Patna-Jul 27,  A special session of the Bihar Assembly has been convened tomorrow for JD(U) President Nitish Kumar to prove his majority on the floor of the House. He was sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the sixth time today. BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi was sworn-in as the Deputy Chief Minister.

Our correspondent reports that Chief Minister will expand his Cabinet after proving majority on the floor of the house.

Talking to reporters after the oath-taking ceremony, Mr. Kumar said, he has taken the decision in the interest of Bihar.

Nitish Kumar had resigned as the Chief Minister last evening citing irreconcilable differences with RJD on corruption charges against Lalu Prasad's son and former Deputy CM Tejaswi Prasad Yadav.

With the support of 132 MLAs, JD(U)-BJP alliance enjoys a comfortable majority in 243-member State Assembly where 122 MLAs are required to prove majority.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav met the Governor early this morning to register protest over Nitish Kumar being invited to form the government ahead of the RJD, which is the single largest party in the state.

RJD staged protests in different districts of Bihar against severance of alliance between the JD(U) and RJD. Party supports blocked Mahatma Gandhi Setu connecting North Bihar with Patna over resignation of Nitish Kumar and forming government with the BJP. They held dharnas and burnt effigies of Nitish Kumar across the state.

A section of Bihar's ruling JD(U) is unhappy over Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's decision to walk out of the grand alliance and form a new government with the BJP.

Party MPs Ali Anwar and Veerendra Kumar today met senior leader Sharad Yadav in New Delhi amid reports that he is also displeased with Nitish Kumar's decision.

Talking to reporters after the meeting, Ali Anwar said, leaders including Sharad Yadav had no idea that such a big development will happen overnight.

He said Mr. Yadav told them that he will take a formal stand on the issue after speaking to other leaders.

Mr Anwar said his reservations over the new coalition should not be seen as a rebellion against the party and he will present his views within the organisation.

Earlier, Mr Anwar had said, his conscience does not support Mr. Kumar's action.

Veerendra Kumar also expressed shock over Nitish Kumar's decision and said Kerala unit of JD(U) will not follow the party national president move.
