Patiala,12.12.19-Pro V.C. releases ‘Jagat Gur Baba’On the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev, the book ‘Jagat Gur Baba’ was released by the organization ‘Punjabi Sath’ at the Guru Gobind Singh Department of Religious studies at the Punjabi University Patiala. The Pro V.C. Dr. B.S. Ghuman was the Guest of honor, while President of the ‘Sath’ organization, Dr. Nirmal Singh Lambran, Pri. Kulwinder Singh Sarai (Manjki Punjabi Sath, Bhangala), Dr. Paramvir Singh and Jagtar Singh Deol (Naujwan Punjabi Sath, Chandigarh) also graced the occasion.

Dr. Ghuman congratulated the contributions to the ‘Sath’ who had made a commendable effort to spread the word of the Guru through their research endeavourers. He hoped they would continue their efforts with renewed vigour in the future too. Dr. Nirmal Singh briefly apprised the audience about the 43 global units of the ‘Sath’ that operate without any discrimination with the sole purpose of spreading the word of the Guru.

Dr. Muhd. Habib (Head, Department of Religious Studies) welcomed the guests, academics and research scholars and remarked that it was indeed an honor to be part of this global project as the book would be distributed around the world and had already been translated into three languages. Principal Sarai informed the audience about the Sath’s European unit, The European Punjabi Sath, Walsall (U.K.), that facilitated the publication of the book. Mr. Deol apprised the audience about the need for the book and the message it conveys to the youth. Prof. Gurpreet Mann hosted the function where Dr. Harpreet Singh Preet’s book ‘Virasat-e-Khalsa’ was gifted to the guests present. The members of the audience were also presented with a copy of ‘Jagat Gur Baba’ and ‘Nanakta’ each by the organizers.

Dr. Gurmeet Singh Sidhu presented a vote of thanks to all present. Dr. Arvind Ritu Raj, Dr. Tajinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Dr. Gurmail Singh, (Research Scholar) Jagmohan Singh, Dr. Harpreet Singh Preet, Sant Singh Sohal, Sukhwinder Singh Aahi, Gurjeet Singh Sidhu, (Research Scholar) Gurpreet Kaur were also present on the occasion.
