One arrested with illegal liquor
A Case FIR No. 172 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Sector 39 against Rajan, resident of Sector 25D, Chandigarh. The accused was apprehended with 150 nips (180 ml each) of country-made liquor branded Tango Santra. Investigation of the matter is in progress.
Action against drinking at public place
A Case FIR No. 106 U/S 68(1)B PP Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area against Pardeep Kumar Yadav, resident of Hallomajra, Chandigarh. The accused was apprehended while drinking alcohol at a public place in Ghoda Parking, Phase-1, Industrial Area.
A Case FIR No. 107 U/S 68(1)B PP Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area against Shiv Darshan, resident of Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. The accused was apprehended while drinking alcohol at a public place near Poultry Farm Chowk.
Cheating
A Case FIR No. 109 U/S 319(2), 318(4), 338, 336, 340, 61 BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber on the complaint of Hari Nath Singh, a resident of Dadumajra, Chandigarh. The complainant was allegedly cheated for ₹51,27,999/- to a fraudster posing as law enforcement officials, including representatives from Mumbai Police and the CBI. Singh was informed a SIM card had been issued in his name in Mumbai using his Aadhar card. The caller further claimed that the SIM was linked to numerous fraudulent activities, leading to seven complaints and one FIR registered against him. To validate his “assets,” Harinath was told to consolidate his funds, including FDs, bank balances, and investments, and transfer the total amount to a specified RBI account for verification purposes. Harinath was assured that if his funds were proven clean, they would be returned. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A Case FIR No. 126 U/S 420, 120B IPC & 24 Immigration Act has been registered at Police Station Sector 26 on the complaint of Vivek Dewanta, resident of Khudda Lahora. The complaint involves Mannat, Anshika, Sahil, Harman, and others, who allegedly took ₹2,00,000 from the complainant with a promise to send him abroad. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Theft
A Case FIR No. 182 U/S 303(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector 34 on the complaint of Sneha Sethi, resident of Sector 20, Chandigarh. The complaint involves an unknown person who stole her purse, containing gold bangles, rings, cash, cards, and a mobile phone, from her I-10 car parked near Sham Mall, Sector 34. Investigation of this case is in progress.
