The 'Gramodaya Sahastra Vidya Deepah' initiative aims to engage and sensitize 1,000 rural students about biotechnology through practical training, fostering an interest in science and technological advancements. As part of the training, approximately 50 students actively participated, each extracting DNA from various plant species. The program provided a unique opportunity for students to conduct experiments, igniting their curiosity and passion for science.
Principal Mr. R.S. Yadav provided all the necessary facilities to conduct the training smoothly at the school. Similarly, Ms. Bina Yadav, a Chemistry Lecturer, joined the CUH team, contributing to the success of the program. Faculty members from the school appreciated the initiative, highlighting that such programs help local students connect with universities, thereby bridging the gap between school education and higher academic institutions.
During the session, Dr. Humira Sonah explained the role of DNA as the genetic material and how different species have evolved over time. She emphasized the importance of sustainable and responsible use of technology for a better future. Research scholars Mr. Badal Mahakalkar, Mr. Sagar, and Mr. Pawan Kumar demonstrated DNA extraction techniques and taught students how to handle scientific equipment effectively. The CUH team brought their laboratory to the school, ensuring a comfortable and engaging learning experience for the students.
