CHANDIGARH-12.01.25-The President of Residents Welfare Association, MHC Sector-13 Chandigarh, Colonel Gursewak Singh ( Veteran ), has witten a letter to Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon'ble Governor of Punjab cum Administrator UT Chandigarh seeking his assistance in installing of elevators/ lifts in four- storied flats in MHC Sector-13 at their own expense.

The President wrote that despite their best efforts, they have been not been given necessarily NOC by the Chandigarh Housing Board.

He reasoned that the four-storied blocks are currently accessed by stairs/ramps, which can be challenging for senior citizens and people with disabilities. Installing elevators/lifts would greatly enhance the convenience and accessibility of our residents. This facility would not only benefit our residents but also contribute to the overall well-being of the community.

He requested the Governor to advise Chandigarh Housing Board to grant the necessary permission to the blocks that wish to install lifts at their own expense.
