CHANDIGARH, 31.01.25-In a momentous achievement, Manya Bahl, NCC cadet of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, represented Chandigarh at the NCC Republic Day (RD) Camp 2025 held at New Delhi, and earned the prestigious DGNCC medal. The NCC Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh (PHHPC) Directorate had selected her for the camp in December 2024. Manya’s journey to the camp began with impressive performances in cultural competitions including a group dance and a ballet performance. These performances led to her selection for key camp events including the VIP visits. She also performed in a cultural performance held on January 25 in the presence of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Congratulating the cadet, college Officiating Principal Ms. Suman Mahajan expressed appreciation for the guidance of Col. A S Randhawa, Commanding Officer of 1st Chandigarh Girls Battalion. She further informed that Manya’s achievement carries forward the legacy of participation of NCC cadets from the college in the Republic Day Camp wherein the cadets participated in the camp in 2022 and 2024. In 2022, senior under officer (NCC) Prerna and under officer Srishti Rana were selected for the march, while in 2024, senior under officer Rabya participated in the NCC table drill at the Prime Minister’s Rally and under officer Khushi represented the PHHPC Directorate in a parade held at the Kartavya Path, New Delhi.
