CHANDIGARH,14.02.23-Global Association of Physicians of Indian origin (GAPIO) is a non-profit organization established in 2011 with the aim of bringing together 1.4 million physicians of Indian origin in the world on one professional platform. This substantial workforce of physicians is a valuable resource, which can help to mobilize significant developments in healthcare globally as well as in India.GAPIO has a presence in 54 countries worldwide.

The XIII^th Annual Conference of GAPIO was held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on February 11-12, 2023 where in Dr. Akshay Kumar Saxena, Professor, Department of Radiodiagnosis, PGIMER, Chandigarh was awarded the GAPIO award for Excellence in the field of Radiology.

The award was delivered by the Honorable Minister of Health and Family Welfare of India Sh. Mansukh Mandviya, and carried a Citation, a Trophy and Rs.One Lakh Cash.
