SHIMLA -17th October, 2024-While welcoming the initiative of the State Government to hold 'Ambassadors Meet' in Kullu district on the occasion of the International Kullu Dusshera festival, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Sunder Singh Thakur said that it was for the first time in the History of the State that the ambassadors from six countries viz: Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Myanmar, Russia, USA and Kyrgistan are taking part in this festival. Apart from this the artisans from Thailand and Uzbekistan have also been invited to participate in the religious and cultural fervour of the famous Kullu Dusshera festivities.

He said that the Kullu Dusshera though dates back to the 17th Century the chariot of Kullu Valley's chief deity Lord Raghunath is wheeled out by tens of thousands of devotees from the historical temple in Sultanpur here on the first day of Dussehra or Vijay Dashami, the day when the festivities end in the rest of the country.

This year as many as 332 local deities have been invited to give a religious fervour to the Mega event, he said adding that the foreign guests, the Ambassadors, will surely carry the memories of this International event and will have a peep into the deep traditions, customs and culture of Himachal Pradesh besides relishing the local 'Pahari' cuisines.

The CPS expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, who will address the ambassadors meet and will share the development journey of the State besides the prominence the Fairs and festivals marking the lives of the Hill people. The Chief Minister will also participate in this mega Kullu carnival and will lay foundation stones and dedicate various development projects in Kullu.
