CHANDIGARH,12.11.24-A Leadership and Management Training Program for PGIMER faculty members was organized on 9th November, by the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh.

*"This groundbreaking program is the first structured leadership training specifically designed for medical faculty at PGIMER. It addresses a critical gap in medical education where experienced clinicians and budding doctors need to evolve into effective leaders and managers," says Prof. Sonu Goel, Program Director.

This first of its kind training featured 20 faculty doctors from various departments such as Transfusion Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia & Intensive Care, Ophthalmology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy PGIMER, focusing on enhancing leadership skills and management capabilities within the healthcare setting The innovative curriculum combines interactive learning methodologies including case discussions, management simulations, group activities, and experiential learning exercises. In a first-of-its-kind approach, the program integrates gaming elements to revolutionize professional development. Participants are involved in numerous skills building games covering crucial aspects of healthcare leadership, including strategic planning, team management, conflict resolution, and effective communication strategies throughout the training.

The training is being led by distinguished experts including Dr. S K Chadha, Former Chairman, UBS; Mr. Vivek Atray, Former IAS and Motivational Speaker; Prof. Sonu Goel, Professor, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER; and Prof. Amarjeet Singh, Former Professor and Head, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh and Dr. Shiv Goel, Motivational speaker, Vibrant dots, Shimla.
