Chandigarh November 28, 2024-Punjab University, Chandigarh, will host the 38th AIU North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival from February 1 to February 5, 2025.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig unveiled the festival’s logo, pamphlet, and dedicated website. The prestigious event is taking place for the third time at Panjab University after a gap of six years. It will also mark the centenary celebrations of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), adding unique significance to the festival, she added. Registration for the festival will open in the second week of December 2024.
The festival is expected to attract around 1,000 students from over 20 leading universities across Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Chandigarh. Participants will compete in 40 events across various categories, including Theatre, Music, Fine Arts, Literary Arts, and Dance, showcasing the cultural diversity and creativity of youth from the region.
Prof. Vig highlighted the importance of the Youth Festival in promoting cultural exchange and the overall development of students. She emphasised the significance of such youth festivals in fostering unity, cultural exchange, and the holistic development of students.
Acknowledging the dedicated work of committee members, Prof. Renu Vig commended Dean of College Development Council Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Director of the Department of Youth Welfare Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma and the collective efforts of the Branding Committee for their creative contributions. The logo, designed by Dr. Manoj Arora was particularly appreciated for its innovative and symbolic representation of the event’s theme.
On this occasion, PU DUI Prof. Rumina Sethi, DCDC Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, DSW Prof. Amit Chauhan, DSW-Women Prof. Simrit Kahlon, ADSW Prof. Naresh Kumar, Director of the Computer Centre Prof. Anu Gupta, Director of Youth Welfare Dr. Rohit Kumar Sharma, Coordinator of NSS Dr. Parveen Goyal, Prof. Dalwinder Singh, Director of Sports Dr. Rakesh Malik, and other committee members were also present.
The 38th AIU North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival promises to be a landmark event, celebrating talent, culture, and the vibrancy of youth. The dedicated website for the festival will open for registration in the second week of December.
