REITERATES COMMITMENT TO PROVIDE BASIC CIVIC AMENITIES IN EVERY TOWN OF STATE

Abohar, December 5:In a major bonanza to the residents of the Abohar city, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday dedicated the Water Supply Scheme and Sewerage projects in the city to facilitate people.

The Chief Minister said that these projects are a significant milestone for the city's residents adding that it will give a major boost to infrastructure structural development of the city. He said that developed at a cost of Rs 119.16 crore, these projects aim to provide a reliable and sustainable supply of clean water to approximately 1.5 lakh residents of the city. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the automated Water Supply Scheme with capacity of 3.50 MGD, will supply canal water to the people.

The Chief Minister Mann emphasized the importance of ensuring a steady water supply during the commissioning of new water supply lines. He highlighted the commitment of his government to deliver quality services to the residents of Abohar. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed to provide basic civic amenities to residents of every city.

The Chief Minister said that at the cost of Rs 27.06 crore rupees, the Water Supply Project will cater 100 percent population of Abohar city in the first phase. He said that the Sewerage Project at the cost of Rs 92.10 crore will cover 100 percent population in the first phase. Bhagwant Singh Mann envisioned that these projects will act as a catalyst for growth and prosperity in the entire border district in general and Abohar in particular.

Says; Predecessors facing public anger due to their sins

Balluana, December 5:After 77 years of freedom Balluana- a Rural assembly segment of Fazilka district on Thursday got first government college as Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann dedicated the Government Degree College Sukhchain to give a major boost to the education sector in the region.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister bemoaned that none of the previous governments thought of constructing such institutions in the region. He said that this college has been established after 77 years of independence and is aimed at giving an impetus to the education sector for welfare of students especially girls. Bhagwant Singh Mann envisioned that this will help in overcoming the scarcity of education in this rural area of the state.

Taking a jibe at the Akali leaders, the Chief Minister said that despite of tall lip service these leaders failed to deliver anything tangible to the people. He said that due to such misdeeds only the Akali leaders are now facing public wrath adding that in a democracy the power of a common man is supreme. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that people have the grit and courage to decide the fate of twenty years in just twenty minutes.

The chief Minister said that AAP is credited for bringing sectors like health, education, power, water and infrastructure at the centre stage of the national politics. He said that these sectors are top five priorities of his government and no stone is being left unturned for it. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that while the other political parties have always pursued the agenda of hatred and divisiveness, AAP had given new direction to politics by according top priority to these sectors.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government has prioritized education and has taken path breaking initiatives in Education sector to transform the lives of people.

He said that education is the key that can pull people out of poverty by raising their standard of living. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that due to this his government is tirelessly making efforts to improve the standard of education to empower the common man.

The Chief Minister said that today the students from government schools are cracking the prestigious exams like JEE and others adding that it will help in improving their living standard. He said that earlier sending his child to government school was the compulsion of the common man but now it is his wish to do so as the education system is being revamped. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Schools of Eminence have been set up across the state to impart quality education to the students adding that in similar manner the government health system is also being upgraded.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that the state government has given 50,000 jobs to the youth of the state in various departments. He said that the entire recruitment process has been carried on in a fair and transparent manner. Bhagwant Singh Mann said the process will be continued further as recruitment process is going on in several key departments of the state.

The Chief Minister said due to the transparent mechanism evolved by the state government Dangar Khera Village of Balluana assembly segment alone has received 700 jobs. He said that the state government is mulling the idea to change the name of village of Dangar Khera to Adhyapak Khera. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he will flag up the matter with the union government as the process needed approval from it.

Highlighting the importance of girls' education, the Chief Minister said that it is the basis of women empowerment so the state government will leave no stone unturned for it. He announced that nine posts of teachers have been sanctioned for this college, with plans to increase the number based on student strength. Bhagwant Singh Mann envisioned that this college will act as a harbinger for the welfare of girls of the region.

The Chief Minister also guaranteed that the water and sewerage project inaugurated at Abohar, will cater to the needs of future generations. He said that the state government is committed for providing ultra modren basic amenities to the residents of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government is working zealously for the progress of the state and prosperity of its people.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister lauded the Bishnoi Community in preserving traditional values and perpetuating them to the younger generations. He profusely thanked the Panchayat for donating 10 acres of land for setting up this college. Bhagwant Singh Mann envisioned that Established at a cost of approximately Rs 15.50 crore, this college is poised to become a beacon of educational excellence in the region.

The Chief Minister also announced to retain the office of Engineer of Canal Division at Balluana.

Earlier, Punjab's Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that after 1,000 days of the state government, they've managed to construct boundary walls for 8,000 schools. This is a significant milestone in their education model and revolution. He also shared that the state government has provided 50,000 jobs during their tenure, which translates to 50 youths getting employed daily. Furthermore, he announced an allocation of ₹50 crore for schools in the Balluana Constituency.

CM CALLS UPON PEOPLE TO FOLLOW TEACHINGS OF SRI GURU TEGH BAHADUR JI

Chandigarh, December 5:Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday exhorted the people to follow the high ideals of secularism, humanism and spirit of sacrifice as preached and practiced by ‘Hind Di Chaadar’ - the Ninth Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji.

In his message on the occasion of Shaheedi Divas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, the Chief Minister said that Guru ji laid down his life to protect the right of freedom to worship and preserve human and secular values. He said that Guru ji’s supreme sacrifice was unique and un-paralleled in the history of mankind and symbolized the crusade against tyranny and oppression. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the ninth guru of Sikhs sacrificed his life for the sake of preserving human rights in the country.

The Chief Minister said that Bani of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib preaches oneness of mankind, universal brotherhood, valour, righteousness and compassion. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that our real homage to the great Guru would be to follow his teachings in true spirit and re-dedicate ourselves to serve society especially the poor and downtrodden with dedication and missionary zeal rising above the parochial considerations of caste, colour, creed and religion. He appealed to the people to observe this sacred occasion by displaying the spirit of harmony and social cohesion to strengthen the unity and integrity of our Country.

Hussainiwala Border (Ferozepur), December 5:Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday announced to develop Hussainiwala border as a state of the art tourist destination.

The Chief Minister who attended the retreat ceremony at Hussainiwala border said that he was overwhelmed to witness this ceremony for the maiden time. He asked the BSF officers to further submit a detailed proposal for giving a facelift to this historical place. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is committed for comprehensive development of this sacred place.

The Chief Minister said that this place will be developed on modren lines so that more and more tourists are attracted. He said that retreat ceremony was held at three places in Punjab viz. Wagah, Hussainiwala and Sulemanki borders. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that while Wagah attracts huge tourists, the flow of tourists at two other places is less.

However, the Chief Minister said that as this place has a huge potential of tourist attraction so it will be developed as a hub of tourism. He said that this place is associated with Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru and Shaheed Sukhdev adding that it houses a museum where pistol which was used by legendary martyr to kill Sandraus has been displayed. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that patriotism is in the air at this place and more tourists can be attached to this sacred land.

The Chief Minister also hailed the Indian Armed forces who perform their duties despite of vagaries of weather in various parts of the country. He said that the state government is making strenuous efforts to perpetuate the legacy of martyrs in Punjab adding due to concerted efforts of the state government, the Mohali airport has been named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Likewise, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that 30 feet high statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh was dedicated at Nishan-e-Inquilab Plaza in Mohali on Wednesday.
