Fatehgarh Sahib, December 23:Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday said that the unprecedented and supreme sacrifice by Chotta Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh along with Mata Gujri Ji will inspire the coming generations to fight against tyranny, oppression and injustice.

The Chief Minister, who paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib here today, eulogized the supreme sacrifice of Chotta Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri ji adding that these sacrifices were unprecedented in the annals of the history of mankind across the globe. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the entire Punjab observes this month as ‘month of mourning’ as the chotta sahibzadas were bricked alive by the tyrant rulers during these days. He said the entire world was proud of this unique and unparalleled sacrifice which was a matter of great honor not for the Punjabis, our countrymen but everyone living across the globe.

The Chief Minister said that every inch of land in this region was highly sacred due to which people are coming in large numbers to pay obeisance at this holy place. He said that since time immemorial Shaheedi Jor Mel is held annually as a mark of respect to eulogize the supreme sacrifice of the sons and mother of the tenth Sikh Guru. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the entire world is paying glowing tributes to Chotta Sahibzadas for their unparalleled sacrifice in the history of the world.

The Chief Minister said that the sahibzadas had inherited the traits of valor and selfless service from Dashmesh Pitaah, who fought relentlessly for the sake of humanity. Bhagwant Singh Mann said the history of Punjab was replete with countless sacrifices that had derived inspiration from our great Gurus like Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur ji and Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji who laid down their lives for the sake of country and mankind. He underlined the need for making younger generations aware of this supreme sacrifice to inspire them to make selfless sacrifices for the country.

The Chief Minister also recalled that during his stint as Lok Sabha Member, the house had paid tributes to chotta sahibzadas of Guru Gobind Singh ji on their martyrdom day after he had pursued the matter with then Lok Sabha Speaker. He said that Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, the Chotta Sahibazadas of tenth master of Sikhs Sri Guru Gobind Singh, attained martyrdom at a tender age adding that they showed exemplary courage and fearlessness to stand up against the might of the Mughal Governor of Sirhind. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that they are blessed to have got the opportunity to serve the state and its people adding that no stone is being left unturned for this noble cause as the state government is following the footsteps of great Sikh Gurus and martyrs to ensure the well being of every section of the society.

DR BALBIR SINGH DIRECTS CIVIL SURGEONS TO ENSURE AVAILABILITY OF ALL ESSENTIAL MEDICINES AT GOVT HEALTHCARE FACILITIES

Health Minister for training nursing students in monitoring BP, H.B. level, and conducting eye check-ups

Chandigarh, December 23:In a bid to ensure the best health care facilities to the people of the state, Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh directed all civil surgeons to ensure the availability of essential medicines at government health facilities. This will prevent any difficulties for the people in accessing necessary medical care.

While presiding over a Conference-cum-Training Workshop for the Civil Surgeons on Monday, the Health Minister reviewed the performance of all civil surgeons. He emphasised that all doctors and hospital staff should exhibit polite and humble behaviour towards patients and their attendants to build stronger trust in government health institutions.

Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government has ensured the allocation of adequate funds for health facilities to make available the quality health care services to the people of state.

He stated that nursing students should receive training in monitoring blood pressure, H.B. level, and conducting eye check-ups. Additionally, their services should also be utilised to assist patients and their attendants in hospitals.

He mentioned that students from schools and colleges would be trained in providing first aid to enable them for assisting others in case of an accident or emergency.

Additionally, nursing students would receive training as breeding checkers to identify mosquito larvae, which would help in controlling dengue cases during the next monsoon season.

While commending the districts with good performance, he motivated the officials of other districts to elevate the standard of health and administrative structures in their respective districts. He said that health officials and employees who demonstrate dedication in their work would be honored for their efforts.

Chairman PHSC Raman Bahl stressed the importance of paying special attention to the maintenance and cleanliness of government health institutions. He emphasized that a clean and well-maintained environment is crucial for providing quality healthcare services to the public.

Administrative Secretary Health and Family Welfare Department Kumar Rahul said that a survey based on patient feedback has been conducted to ensure quality health services in Punjab. He instructed the civil surgeons to enhance all parameters to provide quality services in the hospitals.

Punjab Development Commission member Anurag Kundu presented the results of a detailed survey based on the feedback of patients from various health institutions in the state. In response, the Health Minister directed the civil surgeons to address the shortcomings identified in the survey.

Secretary Health Dr. Abhinav Trikha, Managing Director PHSC Varinder Kumar, Mission Director NHM Ghanshyam Thori, CEO State Health Agency Babita, Director Health and Family Welfare Punjab Dr. Hitinder Kaur, Director Health Services (FW) Punjab Dr. Jasminder, Director PHSC Dr. Anil Goyal, Director (ESI) Dr. Suman Bali, Director NHM Dr. Balwinder and other senior officers of the department were also present in the meeting.
