One arrested under NDPS Act
A Case FIR No. 02 U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station ANTF on the complaint of SI Mahinder Singh Gautam Singh S/o Vivekanand, R/o #1387, Phase-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, was arrested from the tubewell near Mandi Ground, Sector-29, Chandigarh, on 05-01-2025 at about 9:51 PM, with 70 grams of heroin recovered from his possession. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A Case FIR No. 03 U/S 316(2), 318(4), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) & 24 Immigration Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-17 on the complaint of an individual alleging cheating of ₹1 lakh for visa-related matters. The accused are Tinia Sharam S/o Ishiani Sharma and others, R/o SCO No. 181/82, 3rd Floor, Sector-17/C, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A Case FIR No. 06 U/S 406, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B IPC has been registered at Police Station Sector-04 on the complaint of Kulbir Singh, alleging that Manpreet Singh Barar, Ravinder Singh, Jyoti, Pushpender Kaur, and others, all R/o SCO No. 69, Sector-17, Chandigarh, cheated him of ₹14,68,000 for visa-related issues. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Snatching
A Case FIR No. 01 U/S 309(4), 126, 351(2), 3(5) has been registered at Police Station Sector-49 on the complaint of Ram Singh S/o Chander Pal Singh, R/o #2654/2, Housing Board Complex, Maloya, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that three unknown persons snatched his purse containing ₹2,500, driving license, voter card, and Aadhaar card near the jungle area of Sector-50, Chandigarh, on 05-01-2025 at about 5:30 PM. Investigation of the case is in progress.
