Three Arrested in Gambling case
A Case No. FIR 03 u/s 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya on the complaint of HC Ajay Kumar (1470/CP). During a raid near the dumping ground, Sector-25, Chandigarh, on 07-01-2025 at about 10:45 PM, Pritam Singh S/o Hari Singh (aged 43 years) and Anil Kumar S/o Late Kale Ram (aged 29 years) were caught gambling. ₹2100 in cash was recovered from their possession. Both accused were arrested and later released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress
A Case No. FIR 04 u/s 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya on the complaint of SI Naresh Kumar (1612/CHG). On 07-01-2025 at about 11:57 PM, Vikas S/o Umed Singh (aged 26 years) was arrested near Gate No. 2 of the dumping ground, Sector-25, Chandigarh, while gambling. ₹2600 in cash was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and later released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A Case No. FIR 01 u/s 281, 125(A), 106 BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of Shahjad, resident of Sector-26, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that on 06-01-2025, at about 4:20 PM, an unknown truck driver of vehicle hit his Activa at T-point Makhan Majra. The Activa driver and pillion rider sustained injuries, with one declared brought dead at GMCH-32 and the other admitted to Civil Hospital, Sector-6, Panchkula. The truck driver fled the scene.
Assault
A Case No. FIR 07 u/s 115(2), 126(2), 351, 299, 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Police Station 31 on the complaint of Jaswinder Singh R/O Dadu Majra, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that on 05-01-2025, at about 1:30 PM, accused Manis Dubey and Pancham Chauhan attacked and threatened him at his plot No. 114, Phase-2, Industrial Area. The complainant sustained injuries and was admitted to GMCH-32.
A Case No. FIR 08 u/s 316(2), 318(4), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station 31 on the complaint of Manjit Kumar R/o #1, near Baba Smadha Mandir, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that on 06-01-2025, at about 2:45 PM, two persons in a grey Swift Dzire car (PB-01E-4277) asked him for ₹3000 in cash, promising to return the amount online. However, they fled without repaying. Both accused, Shubham and Priyanshu have been arrested and are in police custody.
