Ludhiana 03 February 2025-Department of Livestock Production Management of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana organized a week long Advanced-Entrepreneurship Skill development Programme on “Scientific dairy Farming, Value chain addition and marketing to augment farmers’ income”. 20 participants attended the course which was sponsored by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Govt. of India.

During the Valedictory session Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor and Chief guest interacted with trainees and urged all to come up with innovative ideas in the livestock sector. He motivated them for innovative startups to make impactful ventures. He said that the agenda of this programmes is to enhance the knowledge and entrepreneurship competencies among new entrants as well as existing dairy farmers for their sustainability in the dairy sector for the state of Punjab.

Dr. Anil Kumar Arora, Director Research said that MSME sector is a nursery of entrepreneurship, often driven by individual creativity and innovation. MSMEs play an important role in the wider ecosystem of firms, Start-ups and young firms which are the primary source of net job creation and are the driving force of innovation and sustainability.

Dr. Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Dean College of veterinary science said that there is a need to anchor a new age of entrepreneurship within the MSME sector by dairy farming and value addition.

Dr. Yashpal Singh and Dr. R.S. Grewal, Course-Directors said that MSME is the apex body for the formation and implementation of micro, small and medium enterprise legislation, regulations and laws in India.
