CHANDIGARH, 05.02.25-The Department of Psychology at Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Sector 32, Chandigarh, successfully curated an insightful workshop on "Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)" under the PM-USHA Scheme (RUSA) on 5th February 2025 in the college’s Mini Auditorium.
The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with students eager to delve into the fundamental principles and transformative applications of CBT in mental health and psychological interventions. The session was led by Ms. Aavleen Bakshi, a distinguished licensed clinical psychologist and assistant professor of psychology at Christ University. Drawing from her vast expertise in cognitive restructuring and behavioral therapy, she adeptly navigated the audience through the intricate relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, strategies for dismantling cognitive distortions, and the profound impact of CBT in managing psychological disorders. Through a dynamic blend of interactive discussions, real-world case studies, and hands-on experiential exercises, she equipped students with practical methodologies to seamlessly integrate CBT techniques into both clinical practice and everyday life.
Many participants expressed that the session expanded their perspective on mental well-being and provided them with actionable tools to cultivate emotional resilience and psychological adaptability.
