Attempt to Murder
A Case FIR No. 14 u/s 109, 351(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at PS-Sector 14 on the complaint of Ankus R/o EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh. The accused Harry, Krishan, Karan, and others allegedly stabbed the complainant's brother-in-law, Monu near Park, EWS Colony, Dhanas on 07-02-2025 at about 7:30 PM. The victim was injured and admitted to PGI. Investigation of this case is in progress
Cheating
A Case FIR No. 34 u/s 406, 420 IPC has been registered at PS-Sector 34 on the complaint of Col. Manjit Singh (Retd.) R/o Sector 46/D, Chandigarh. The accused, Neeraj Bhanot R/o Sector 46/C, Chandigarh, allegedly cheated the complainant of Rs. 10 lakh in an investment fraud on assurance of high returns. Investigation of this case is in progress
A Case FIR No. 06 u/s 319(2), 318(4), 338, 336(3), 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Cyber Crime Police Station on the complaint of lady resident of Sector 47/C, Chandigarh. An unknown person allegedly cheated the complainant of Rs. 95,00,000/- by falsely claiming that her husband had been caught by CBI in a case. In her complaint, the fraud began on January 15, 2025, when she received a WhatsApp call from an unknown number. The caller falsely claimed that her husband's Aadhaar card had been linked to a money laundering case. Under this pretense, the fraudsters extracted sensitive bank details and later initiated multiple unauthorized transactions. The scammers allegedly identified themselves as a "CBI Director" and an "RBI Director," using their fake credentials to gain her trust. Following their instructions over the phone, Takhar unwittingly transferred large sums of money from her accounts. Investigation of this case is in progress.
