Chandigarh, March 7:- The Mayor of Chandigarh, Smt. Harpreet Kaur Babla, led a grand celebration of International Women’s Day at Mahila Bhawan, Sector 38. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS along with the Chief Engineer and officials from all departments of the Municipal Corporation. Women from various self-help groups and other organizations also participated enthusiastically in the event.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla emphasized the vital role women play in shaping society and acknowledged their growing contributions in various fields. She highlighted the importance of women empowerment and encouraged women to take independent decisions for their rights and future.
"Women today are excelling in every sphere and significantly contributing to the progress of our society. Their hard work and dedication are driving positive change, and women empowerment is one of the best outcomes of our time. We must continue to support and encourage women to stand up for their rights and make informed decisions," said Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla.
MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar also addressed the attendees, appreciating the efforts of women in different sectors and reaffirming the Municipal Corporation’s commitment to supporting women-centric initiatives.
