Chandigarh, March 26 - Haryana Transport Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that a new electric bus depot is under construction at Old Bus Stand Panipat and it is likely to be ready by July-2025. After depot developed, all the remaining electric buses will be added.

Additionally, concerns were raised in the Assembly about three-wheelers coming from metro cities, which are causing pollution and traffic congestion in Panipat. A request was made to impound these vehicles and provide financial assistance to the underprivileged by offering low-interest loans for purchasing electric three-wheelers. Addressing these concerns, Transport Minister Anil Vij assured that appropriate action would be taken as per regulations.

Chandigarh, March 26 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today urged the Chief Minister, all Assembly members, and media representatives to visit the Azadi ki pehli ladai ka Shaheed Smarak being built in Ambala, dedicated to the First War of Independence in 1857. He emphasized that this will be the largest Shaheed Memorial in Asia.
Sh.Vij made this request during a budget session discussion in the Assembly regarding the memorial. He stated that more than ₹550 crore is being spent on this grand structure, making it Asia’s largest memorial of its kind.
All Battles of 1857 to Be Depicted in the Shaheed Memorial – Vij
He further explained that this memorial is being built in honor of the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the 1857 revolution. The memorial will also feature information about freedom fighter Rao Tularam Ji and will narrate historical events in an engaging manner. Additionally, the memorial will showcase all the battles fought in 1857, including those led by Rani Lakshmibai, Tatya Tope, and battles fought in Gujarat, Hyderabad, Agra, Haryana, Meerut, Panipat and Ahirwal among others. The memorial will bring these battles to life through immersive displays.

Highlighting the significance of lesser-known freedom fighters, Sh.Vij said that the memorial will also honor unsung heroes of the 1857 revolution. He pointed out that many of these heroes have never been acknowledged, remembered or mourned. The government has extensively researched and identified approximately 700 such names, which will be included in the memorial as a tribute to their sacrifices.

Chandigarh, March 26 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport & Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij today urged all members of the Haryana Assembly during the ongoing budget session to pass the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Travel Agents Bill with a thumping majority and voice vote, considering the future of Haryana’s youth. He emphasized that currently, there are no existing rules or regulations on this matter.
Sh.Vij was addressing the Assembly regarding the proposed Haryana Registration and Regulation of Travel Agents Bill. He stated that while the government is introducing this bill, any valuable suggestions will be taken into account while drafting the regulations and will be implemented accordingly.He commended the government for introducing this bill to regulate human traffickers (kabootarbaz), who exploit young people’s dreams of going abroad. He termed it a serious issue that needs immediate action.

Recalling his tenure as Home Minister, Sh.Vij stated, "I formed two Special Investigation Teams (SITs) to take strict action against human traffickers. The first SIT was led by IPS officer Bharti Arora, which arrested nearly 600 traffickers. Later, another SIT was formed under IPS officer Shivas Kaviraj, which led to the arrest of approximately 750 more traffickers."

He emphasized the urgent need for this bill, highlighting that currently, there are no regulations, and anyone can start working as a travel agent without oversight. He added that "Districts like Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal and Karnal are the most affected. People sell their land, farms, and houses to send their children abroad. These young people are smuggled through forests, seas, and the dangerous ‘Donkey Route,’ crossing walls illegally into foreign countries."

Sh.Vij emphasized that it is essential to establish strict rules and laws against human trafficking. "Earlier, we introduced a similar law, but objections were raised. Now, we have addressed those objections and are reintroducing the bill. Recently, we saw how the United States deported illegal immigrants back to India in dire conditions. Should we not take action against such practices? Should we not regulate this? Should we not create strict laws to curb human trafficking?" he questioned.
