Jalandhar, 02.04.25-Addressing the alarming depletion of global water resources, Lovely Professional University (LPU) organized The Hydro Innovation- Design Thinking Workshop, led by the State Nodal Agency Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST) and supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India. As part of the Environmental Education Programme, the workshop brought together distinguished scientists, researchers, academicians, and thousands of students to explore forward-thinking solutions for water conservation.

Dr. Lovi Raj Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor of LPU, underscored the urgency of addressing water scarcity and emphasized that true sustainability begins with conscious behavioral shifts at the grassroots level. Dr. Gupta highlighted the transformative potential of young innovators in pioneering advancements such as water recycling systems, smart irrigation techniques, and AI-driven water monitoring technologies.

The event was further graced by eminent dignitaries, including Dr. Monica Gulati, Senior Dean of the School of Pharmacy at LPU; Prof. Rama Shanker Verma, Director of MNNIT Prayagraj; Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, Senior Principal Scientist of Biomedical Applications at CSIR-CSIO Chandigarh; Prof. Sushil Kansal from Panjab University; and Prof. Mukul Shukla, Head of Mechanical Engineering at MNNIT Prayagraj.

The workshop recognized and celebrated groundbreaking contributions to water sustainability, highlighting innovative approaches that address pressing global water challenges. Discussions emphasized the pivotal role of emerging technologies in redefining conservation strategies, illustrating how targeted interventions can drive large-scale environmental impact.
