“No words can convey our remorse,” expressed Jyoti’s father, Virender Kumar. “We have not only lost our daughter but the heart of our family. Yet, we take solace in knowing that even in her passing, she has helped four people live on.”

Her mother, Geeta , echoed this sentiment, highlighting how Jyoti's compassionate spirit was evident throughout her life. “Caring for others was who she was. It feels right that her final act was one of generosity, just as she lived.”

Remembered for her radiant smile and caring nature, Jyoti touched countless lives around her. “Mai kanyadaan nahi kar payi, par mai angdan zaroor karungi." said her mother, tearfully recalling the joy Jyoti brought into their lives.


Paying rich tributes to the brave heart donor, Prof. Vivek Lal, Director PGIMER, lauded Jyoti’s family for their selfless decision as he stated, “It takes extraordinary strength to say ‘yes’ to organ donation amidst such profound grief. Their bravery in choosing to donate not only provides hope but exemplifies the best of humanity. We salute their unparalleled generosity.”

Jyoti's promising life was tragically cut short on April 4, 2025, when the auto rickshaw she was riding in was struck from behind by a motorcycle. The impact caused her to fall onto the road, leading to fatal head injuries.

After being rushed through several hospitals, she was finally brought to PGIMER in an extremely critical condition on 6th April, where she succumbed to cardiac arrest on April 8th.
