CHANDIGARH, 10.04.25-On 7th April 2025, during a mega ceremony held at SBI, Panchkula Shri Krishan Sharma, Chief General Manager SBI in presence of Sh. Sujit Kumar GM and other dignitaries presented keys of School Bus to Shri Dinesh K Kapila, Chairman of the institute. Ms Supama Sachdev Honorary Secretary, Mrs. Aneeta Jayara Joint Secretary and Mrs. Prem Girdhar Executive Member were also present during the function along with other officials and students.
Later Shri Krishan Shanna, CGM-SBI flagged off the Bus and chocolates & sweets were distributed amongst all. The Bus was required since long as our existing old buses was giving problems. Now with the addition of new Bus, the visually challenged day scholar students of Chandigarh Mohali and Panchkula will enjoy free transportation service from their doorstep to institute and back home.
The fruitful results came into existence after great efforts of our Members of the Management, for their personal interaction and visits, the State Bank of India has donated CSR Funds for the purchase of School Bus to the "Society for the Care of Blind" for the welfare and transportation facility of the visually challenged students of the Institute.
The "Society for the Care of Blind" which is serving the visually challenged students since 1972 and running a CBSE affiliated Sr. Secondary School namely "Institute for the Blind" having 173 students on rolls, will remain grateful to the State Bank of India for their kindness and help from time to time for the welfare of the specially abled students.
