Bilaspur, April 11, 2025:Minister for Town Planning, Housing, Technical Education, Vocational & Industrial Training, Rajesh Dharmani stated that the Himachal Pradesh Government has appointed 18 specialist doctors in four major hospitals of the district to ensure improved healthcare services in rural areas.
He informed that under the Mukhyamantri Adarsh Swasthya Sansthan Yojana, one hospital in each assembly constituency is being strengthened so that people can access proper treatment near their homes.
Rajesh Dharmani expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Health Minister Colonel Dhani Ram Shandil for facilitating the appointment of specialist doctors in four hospitals of Bilaspur district. He said that this step reflects the government’s commitment to public welfare.
He shared that six specialist doctors have been appointed at District Hospital Bilaspur, six at Civil Hospital Ghumarwin, three at Civil Hospital Ghumarwin, one at Jhandha Hospital, and two in the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). These specialists include experts in Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Pharmacology, Anesthesia, Radiology, Medicine, and Respiratory Medicine.
Minister Dharmani mentioned that the appointment of six doctors especially at Civil Hospital Ghumarwin will bring significant relief to the local population as the hospital has been facing a severe shortage of doctors for a long time.
He added that the state government is establishing a total of 69 Adarsh Health Institutions, out of which 49 are already functional. These institutions are being equipped with 4 to 6 specialist doctors and modern medical equipment.
Rajesh Dharmani further stated that currently, dialysis services are being provided in 20 of these institutions. For the remaining institutions, a sum of rupees 45 crore will be spent this year. Additionally, blood storage units will be established in 11 Adarsh Health Institutions.
He emphasized that all these efforts are significant steps towards ensuring quality healthcare services reach rural and remote areas.
