CHANDIGARH,03.03.24-Chandigarh Administration launched National round of Pulse Polio Immunization campaign for children up to 5-years of age group.

The inaugural session was joined by Chief Guest Prof. Kewal Krishan, Dean International Students, Panjab University and Guest of Honour Dr. Sucha Singh, the Former NSS Programme Officer at Panjab University.

Prof. Kewal Krishan whole heartedly appreciated the efforts of NSS volunteers for selfless community services in Pulse Polio drive and congratulated the team lead by Unit Coordinator Ms. Ritika Verma for playing a vital role in extending their volunteer services to the Department of Health & Family Welfare. Dr. Sucha Singh motivated NSS volunteers to participate in the campaign with best spirits and contribute in keeping India Polio free.

NSS Programme Officer, Er. Binesh Bhatia said about 40-volunteers have been deputed by the NSS Open Unit. All NSS volunteers have been imparted prior training to conduct the Pulse Polio drive in a successful manner.

Ms. Ritika Verma with Dr. Meenu from Government Multi Specialty Hospital, Sector-16 will be smoothly conducting this National round campaign up to March 5, 2024, he added.
