Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University’s Directorate of Human Resource Management (HRMC) conducted the Faculty Induction Program (FIP) for newly recruited faculty in various departments of the university. Dr. L.D. Singla, Director HRMC said that the objective of this 10 day programme was to familiarize the newly recruited Assistant Professors of the university with the basic knowledge of the organizational set up, university's vision, policies, and rules and regulation. To guide them about classroom teaching, student psychology, academic modules of UG and PG teaching, library resources, research ethos including preparation of manuscript and research proposal, extension activities and Intellectual property rights, animal welfare and ethics of animal experimentation. 24 resource persons delivered expert lectures on the different topics.

Dr. H.S. Banga, Registrar, deliberated on the university governance, its policies and administration. Dr. S.K. Uppal, Dean of Postgraduate Studies, guided the new faculty on teaching policies, procedures and research expectations in postgraduate research . Dr. J S Hundal, Coordinator of Research, deliberated on research culture, priorities and funding opportunities. Mr. Surinder Bansal provided inputs on University Budgeting, Purchase Procedures and Ethical Compliance in Purchasing. Dr. Opinder Singh, Controller of Examination, briefed the participants about the university examination system, its policies and procedures. Dr. Nirmal Singh, Librarian discussed library services and resources for enhancing academic support. Dr Nittin Dev Singh, Chief Warden delivered lectures on hostel facilities and security infrastructure and rules. visit to Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, ICAR-Central Institute of Post Harvest Engineering & Technology and to various departments organised.

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, presided over the valedictory session and emphasized the importance of the FIP in professional development. He motivated the participants to work hard to rise in their career. He advised them to uphold the university's standards of excellence in teaching, research and community service. The Vice-Chancellor distributed certificates of participation to the newly inducted faculty members at the valedictory function. Dr. Paramjit Kaur the organizing secretary was commended for their role in planning and executing the event successfully.
