Ludhiana 16 March 2024-Vet Varsity is going to host ‘47th Vice-Chancellors Convention’ from 17th March

During the convention, various issues under six important themes concerning Indian Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries Sectors w.r.t. Food Security, Climate Change, and Farmers' Welfare will be discussed in order to develop a broad roadmap for Vision India- 2047 and beyond.

Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice-chancellor of the Vet Varsity and patron of the event envisaged that this convention will provide an opportunity for the professionals, and policy planners to showcase their activities and services for the farmers from Agriculture, and Livestock Sectors. He also mentioned that this convention will provide a common platform for the stakeholders involving professionals, policy makers and farmers to come together and find the solutions.

Padma Bhushan Dr. RS Paroda, Chairman, Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences (TAAS), New Delhi, and Former Secretary Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE)-cum-Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research will be the Chief Guest of the convention. Dr. RC Agrawal, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Education), ICAR, New Delhi will be the guest of honour. Father of Rice Revolution and World Food Prize Winner Padma Shri Dr. G.S. Khush will also be guest of honour., Dr. Rameshwar Singh, President, IAUA and Vice Chancellor, Bihar Animal Sciences University said that the IAUA coordinates and cooperates with Indian Council of Agricultural Research, and various Agricultural universities or other bodies (national or international) in matters of common interest. He mentioned that in this convention, Vice Chancellors and other officials from various Agricultural Universities across India as well as keynote speakers from overseas will attend this event, and share their experience and knowledge for the upliftment of farming communities.
