Chandigarh March 16, 2024-The 7th National Law Fest Arguendo culminated in a grand valedictory ceremony with the worthy presence of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Hon'ble Mr. Justice A.G. Masih, Judge, Supreme Court of India; and Hon'ble Mr. G.S. Sandhawalia, Chief Justice Pb. & Hy. HC. Justice Surya Kant delivered a motivating address on the importance of upholding justice in society, and the role of such competitions into enhancing the legal acumen of the budding legal professionals. He emphasized the significance of mediation as an method of alternate dispute resolution and said that it was coming up in a big way. Justice A.G. Masih and Justice Sandhawalia shared valuable insights into the challenges faced by budding lawyers and the opportunities, which the young lawyers can secure in the legal profession. The judges and dignitaries were welcomed by Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, PU. Prof. Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS, expressed her gratitude to the honorable guests.

The final rounds of the Shri. G.K. Chatrath National Moot Court Competition, were judged by Hon'ble Justice Deepak Sibal, Hon'ble Justice Harpreet Singh Brar; and Mr. Gurminder Singh, Advocate General, Punjab. Department of Laws, Panjab University bagged the best team prize. The best Negotiating Team for the 4th Justice A.S. Anand National Mediation and Negotiation Competition was Army Institute of Law, Mohali and best Mediator was from NLU, Jodhpur.

The winning teams were awarded cash prizes worth Rs. 1.5 lakhs. The event was successfully conducted under the guidance of Anu Chatrath, Sr. Advocate; Munisha Gandhi, Sr. Advocate; Faculty coordinators, Prof. Pushpinder Kaur, Prof. Jai Mala, Prof. Sabina; Prof. Virender Negi; and student coordinators, Ratik Chatrath Kapur (President, MCS), Yuvraj Dhananjaya (Convenor ADR-CCL Board), and Gurpreet Rana (President SFQ) alongwith a team of Anupam Kakkar, and Agastya Shukla, Garv Sood, Krittika Walia, Kanika Singh, Muskaan Verma, Eshita Pillania.
