Chandigarh, March 23- The Haryana Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh Nayab Singh her today, expressed heartfelt congratulations and extended best wishes to the citizens of the state on the auspicious occasion of Holi and wished them a joyous and prosperous life.

Holi Safety Measures in Place; Haryana Police Gear Up for Peaceful Celebrations

Chandigarh, March 23- Haryana Director General of Police, Sh. Shatrujeet Kapur with Holi fast approaching (March 24th-25th), has issued comprehensive directives to district police officers across all districts. These directives prioritise public safety and aim for a harmonious festival celebration.

Haryana DGP said that recognising potential issues such as throwing colors at religious sites, public intoxication, harassment, and noise pollution, the Police are implementing a comprehensive plan.

Maintaining Peace and Order

Increased Police Presence- The police force will be deployed across the state, with intelligence-gathering units on alert to prevent any untoward incidents.

Patrolling for Safety- Foot and mobile patrolling will be intensified in public areas to deter disorderly behaviour and ensure public safety. The police control room will also be on alert mode.

Strict Action on Intoxication- Stringent action will be taken against public consumption of alcohol and drunk driving.

Promoting Respectful Celebrations

Regulation of Music- Organizers of Holi events and processions are warned against playing vulgar or provocative songs/slogans through loudspeakers.

Social Media Monitoring- Social media platforms and messaging apps will be closely monitored to identify and remove provocative or offensive content.

Security for Sensitive Areas- Heightened security will be implemented in areas with mixed populations and around religious sites.

Intelligence Gathering- Local intelligence units will be activated to gather information on any potential threats to disrupt the festivities.

Anti-Harassment Measures- Dedicated efforts will be made to prevent harassment during the festivities, particularly to ensure the safety of women and girls. This will create a more inclusive and enjoyable environment for everyone.
