Chandigarh, March 19: A case has been registered by the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) against Inspector Bilasa Ram and private individual Dharmendra for bribery in the Panipat district. In this case, accused Dharmendra was arrested red-handed yesterday while accepting a bribe of Rs.100,000, while the accused inspector Bilasa Ram fled from the spot.
Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that the ACB team received a complaint that Inspector Bilasa Ram, posted at Sector -13/17 police station in Panipat, and private individual Dharmendra were demanding a bribe of Rs.100,000 from the complainant in exchange for removing the name of the complainant's friend from the FIR. The ACB team of Karnal, after investigating the matter, made a plan to catch both the accused. In this case, accused Dharmendra was arrested red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs.100,000, while the other accused inspector fled from the spot. A case has been registered in this matter against both the accused at the ACB Karnal police station and action has been taken. The ACB team is investigating the case by collecting all the necessary evidence.
The bureau's spokesperson appealed to the general public that if any officer or employee demands a bribe in exchange for doing government work, then immediately inform the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau on its toll-free numbers -1800-180-2022 and 1064.

Chandigarh, April 19- Kurukshetra University (KU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva said that donating blood for the welfare of humanity is a great virtue and one unit of blood donation has the potential to save three lives. Blood donation does not cause any weakness in the body.
Prof. Som Nath was speaking at a one-day blood donation camp organised on Friday under the joint aegis of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Studies Center and Divya Kurukshetra Mission of Kurukshetra University on the occasion of the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
KU, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Som Nath mentioned the crucial role played by the LNJP hospital and team and underlined that a human should donate blood for the welfare of humanity while fulfilling his social responsibility in order to save a person's life.

Chandigarh, April 19 - The Haryana Right to Service Commission has decided to impose a fine of Rs 5000 on the manager of a Punjab National Bank branch for failing to disburse the loan within the stipulated time frame. This fine will be deducted from the manager's April month salary.
Providing details in this regard here today, a spokesperson of the Haryana Right to Service Commission said that the Chief Commissioner, Sh TC Gupta, addressed three cases concerning beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana (MMAPUY) in March. One such case involved applicant Ompati from Siwani, where the Commission took suo motu cognizance.
In this case, the Commission has imposed a fine of Rs 5000 on Anuj Verma, the branch manager of Punjab National Bank in Siwani, district Bhiwani, for the delay in loan disbursement. The Commission, in its ruling, has mandated that this fine be deducted from the branch manager's salary for the month of April, with the deducted amount to be deposited into the state treasury. Furthermore, the Commission has directed that the challan receipt for this deduction be submitted to the Commission within the next 30 days.
Likewise, in the case of applicant Karmavir from Bidhwan village, branch manager Anuj Verma has been instructed to ensure timely resolution of cases related to beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana (MMAPUY), aligning with the scheme's objectives. In addition, the case of applicant Rajesh from Bidhwan village has been registered, given Rajesh's possession of a Kisan Credit Card facility.
The spokesperson said that in these cases, the Commission has instructed the Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department in Bhiwani to investigate the authenticity of the undated letter provided by Ompati, presented on behalf of Dr. Rajkumar Beniwal, SDO of the Animal Husbandry Department in Siwani. A report regarding this matter is required to be submitted to the Commission by April 22, 2024. Similarly, the Commission has directed the SDO of the Animal Husbandry Department in Siwani to initiate the process for a second purchase, ensuring timely payment by the bank.
During a meeting held on October 6, 2023, of the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) and Deputy General Managers (DGMs) from several banks, chaired by the Chief Commissioner of the Haryana Right to Service Commission, it was brought to the Commission's attention that numerous loans were not being disbursed on time by banks. Additionally, hundreds of cases were identified where loans were sanctioned but not disbursed even after purchase. Consequently, it was decided that the Commission would investigate 100 cases characterized by significant delays in loan disbursement and take appropriate action. This decision aims to serve as a deterrent to bank officials who exhibit negligence in their duties.

Patent granted to Kurukshetra University for non-surgical cancer treatment
Chandigarh, April 19- A patent has been granted to Kurukshetra University in the name of Prof. Pawan Sharma, Department of Chemistry, and Dr. Jitender Bhardwaj, Department of Zoology for their triazolothiazolyl-triazole derivative apoptosis-inducing composition.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva congratulated the KU faculty and said that Kurukshetra University is committed to providing high-quality research and elevating it to new heights. He said that the facility for filing patents is being provided to KU Professors through the invaluable contribution of patent expert IPR Honorary Professor Dr. Ramesh Kumar Mehta.
Dr. Jitender Bhardwaj said that the present invention relates to an apoptosis-inducing composition for cancer treatment. Cancer is one of the most dreaded diseases of mankind and has the highest number of patients worldwide.
