CHANDIGARH, 07.11.25-The 65th Annual Scientific Conference of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) [NAMSCON 2025] commenced today at the PGIMER, bringing together over 300 of the nation’s most distinguished medical professionals, researchers, and academicians for three days of high-level scientific deliberations and academic celebration.

The opening day set a powerful tone for the conference, emphasizing innovation, preparedness, and compassionate healthcare delivery in an era of rapid technological transformation.

Reflecting on the successful first day, Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, stated, “The first day of NAMSCON 2025 has vividly demonstrated how technology, innovation, and empathy can coexist to shape the future of healthcare. Each session reaffirmed the core values of our medical fraternity—scientific rigor, service to humanity, and the drive to translate knowledge into impact. It is a privilege for PGIMER to host a congregation of minds that represent the finest in Indian medicine.”

Prof. Lal further added that the collaboration between PGIMER and NAMS (India) exemplifies “a shared vision to advance healthcare education and research that is not only cutting-edge but also inclusive and humane.”

The session on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) brought together clinicians, policymakers, and researchers to deliberate on evidence-informed decision-making in healthcare. Speakers emphasized that HTA is central to rationalizing medical innovation and ensuring equitable access to cost-effective treatment technologies.

Adding a futuristic edge, the session on Artificial Intelligence and OMICS Technologies delved into their transformative role in combating antimicrobial resistance and enhancing diagnostic precision. Experts showcased how AI-driven analytics and genomic platforms are reshaping the future of personalized medicine.

Sessions on Biosafety and High-Risk Pathogen Handling further emphasized laboratory preparedness and compliance with international biosafety norms—an increasingly critical area in the wake of emerging infectious threats.

Parallel workshops on Telemedicine and Digital Health illustrated how technology is bridging gaps in healthcare accessibility and continuity, particularly in remote regions.

The day concluded with a highly interactive session titled “ Mastering Manuscript and Protocol Writing using GenAI”, empowering participants to leverage generative artificial intelligence tools for scientific writing, research documentation, and publication.

As the scientific sessions continue, the spotlight will shift on Saturday, November 8, 2025, to the 65th Convocation of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India)— the most prestigious event of the conference.

The ceremony, to be held at 5:00 PM in the NINE Auditorium, PGIMER, will be graced by Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Hon’ble Governor of Haryana, as the Chief Guest, who will also deliver the Convocation Address.
