Haryana’s historic first appearance in the Opening Parade of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2025)
Grand showcase of the state’s rich culture, film heritage and vibrant identity
Chandigarh, November 21 – Haryana presented its first-ever state tableau in the opening parade of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025, held in Goa. This year, IFFI replaced its traditional opening ceremony with a spectacular and captivating “street parade”, offering audiences a unique “moving festival” filled with the colours of Indian culture and cinema.
The nine-day prestigious festival, being held from November 20 to 28, 2025, features various events including Film Bazaar and several special programmes.
Under the guidance of Director General, Department of Information, Public Relations, Languages & Art and Culture, Sh. K.M.Pandurang, the Haryana tableau titled “Non-Stop Filmy Haryana” was created. Haryana’s tableau drew special attention from delegates, filmmakers and visitors from India and abroad. The presentation artistically showcased the state’s cultural heritage, Haryana’s presence in cinema, and its scenic filming locations. The tableau received strong appreciation from domestic and international tourists.
Designed in the form of a magnificent film camera, the tableau symbolised Haryana’s creative energy—presenting the state’s culture, people and voice to the world in an innovative manner. The golden rays emerging from the camera represented the state’s creative spirit, vitality and bright future. Digital screens displayed an impressive montage of Haryana’s heritage, tourism, folk traditions, theatre art and filming destinations, all brought to life in a single visual canvas.
The tableau also communicated the core message of Haryana’s Film Policy. It depicted how stories emerging from village chaupals are now reaching global screens. Below, the swaying golden mustard fields symbolised Haryana’s rich traditions and the eternal journey of stories born from this fertile land.
