MAHENDERGARH, 28.11.25-The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh organised a one-day workshop on “Aligning Departmental Activities and Data Collection for NIRF” to strengthen the university’s preparedness for the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2026.

Prof. Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Pro-Chancellor, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun, was the Resource Person for the workshop. With his vast experience in institutional ranking, accreditation and quality assurance, Dr. Sharma provided detailed insights on data accuracy, evidence compilation and the importance of aligning departmental activities with national ranking indicators. Every faculty must understand its role in securing good NIRF rank by publishing in high quality journals and collaboration with peers in other institutes,” said Prof. Sharma while addressing the participants.

Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, CUH, in his address, emphasised the importance of collective effort in improving the university’s performance. “Quality is built through consistent planning, transparent processes and teamwork. This workshop is a step towards ensuring that every academic and administrative unit of the university contributes meaningfully to our progress in NIRF and other national frameworks,” he remarked.
Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro Vice Chancellor said that accurate and timely data collection at the departmental level is the backbone of NIRF benchmarking. Through this workshop, we aim to create a structured and coordinated approach towards quality assurance across the University.

Prof. Surender Singh Director, IQAC, CUH, highlighted the role of systematic documentation and evidence-based reporting. The programme was attended by Heads of Departments, registrar, COE, FO, Dean research, dean academic, IQAC members and Departmental IQAC Coordinators, with the objective of enhancing understanding of NIRF parameters, data requirements and effective strategies for performance improvement.
