Chandigarh, January 23: Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh.Anil Vij today paid homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary (Parakram Diwas) at Subhash Park in Ambala Cantonment. Braving heavy rain and strong winds, the minister offered floral tributes at the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and saluted the 12-foot-tall statue in a military-style salute. Along with BJP workers, he raised slogans of “Netaji Amar Rahein,” filling the park with patriotic fervour.
On this occasion, Sh. Anil Vij said that today marks the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, in whose honour Subhash Park has been developed in Ambala Cantonment. He stated that every year since the establishment of the park and installation of Netaji’s statue, they come here to pay their heartfelt tributes and offer floral respects.
It is noteworthy that on the call of Prime Minister Sh.Narendra Modi, January 23 is observed across the country as Parakram Diwas to commemorate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
During the programme, Energy Minister Anil Vij, along with party workers, paid homage to Netaji and later distributed laddoos among those present to mark the occasion. Municipal Council Chairperson Swarna Kaur, BJP leaders Sanjeev Soni, Ashish Aggarwal, Harsh Bindra, Ravi Budhiraja, Vikas Bahgal, Pravesh Sharma, and a large number of party office-bearers and workers were present on the occasion.

Spread over 17 acres, Subhash Park attracts thousands of visitors every day, who draw inspiration from the life and ideals of Netaji. Established through the initiatives of Sh. Anil Vij, the park is counted among the most picturesque parks in the state and draws visitors from across Haryana for recreation and to admire its scenic beauty.
