Two arrested under NDPS Act
A case FIR No. 24 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-26 against Sahil R/o #133, Phase-2, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh, aged 22 years, who was apprehended from maintenance booth, Timber Market, Sector-26, Chandigarh, on 31-01-2026 at about 10:05 am, and 5.86 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. The accused is in police lock-up.
A case FIR No. 22 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya against woman R/o Village Baliali, Sector-74A, Mohali, Punjab, aged 22 years, who was apprehended from near Satsang Bhawan, Maloya, Chandigarh, on 31-01-2026 at about 5:00 pm, and 15.05 grams of heroin was recovered from her possession. The accused was later released on bail.
Cyber Cheating
A case FIR No. 19 u/s 319(2), 318(4), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Cyber Crime Police Station, Chandigarh on the complaint of Vishal Chopra R/o Sector-30B, Chandigarh, alleging that an unknown person cheated him of ₹18,52,000 on the pretext of online investment. Investigation of this case is in progress.
