Chandigarh, March 29 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s widely appreciated programme “Mann Ki Baat” is a “reflection of the entire nation.” He emphasized that the programme showcases developments and inspiring efforts from every corner of the country and is something everyone should watch.
Sh. Vij was speaking to media persons after attending a screening of the programme at the residence of senior Chartered Accountant A.D. Gandhi in Tribune Colony, Ambala Cantonment, where he watched the broadcast along with eminent citizens.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “friend, philosopher and guide,” noting that Mann Ki Baat highlights diverse initiatives across India—from innovations in agriculture and fisheries to grassroots achievements by citizens. Through the programme, the Prime Minister shares inspiring stories of individuals contributing to nation-building in areas such as water conservation, solar energy, rooftop initiatives, and sustainable practices. These stories, he said, motivate people to actively participate in making the country prosperous and self-reliant.
*‘Those Who Play Will Flourish’ – A Guiding Mantra for Youth*
Sh. Vij further highlighted that the Prime Minister, through Mann Ki Baat, has given the powerful message: “Jo Khelega Wo Khilega” (Those who play will flourish). He urged youth to channel their energy in the right direction, particularly through sports and constructive activities.
He said that young athletes are already showcasing their talent and bringing pride to both the state and the nation. Encouraging wider participation in sports, he said it is essential for holistic development and success.
Earlier, upon his arrival, Sh. Vij was welcomed by senior CA A.D. Gandhi and other distinguished attendees with bouquets. The programme was broadcast on LED screens, and all present listened attentively to the Prime Minister’s address.

During the programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke extensively on topics such as youth empowerment, women empowerment, health awareness, the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, water conservation, and environmental initiatives like “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” (Plant a Tree in Mother’s Name). He described Mann Ki Baat not merely as a broadcast but as a shared dialogue with citizens, where he interacts with people every month and receives valuable suggestions and messages.
Highlighting the importance of water conservation ahead of summer, the Prime Minister noted that awareness in this area has significantly increased over the past 11 years. He mentioned the creation of nearly 5 million artificial water harvesting structures, the cleaning of village ponds, and the development of approximately 70,000 Amrit Sarovars across the country. Citing the example of Varanasi, he pointed out that lakhs of trees were planted within a single hour through collective public participation. Under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, millions of trees have been planted nationwide.
He also shared the example of a woman from Surendranagar district in Gujarat, who, after receiving solar training under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, has established herself as a successful solar entrepreneur and is earning a sustainable livelihood.

*New Boosting Station to Improve Canal Water Supply in Several Colonies, Benefiting Thousands*
Chandigarh, March 29 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that administrative approval of ₹1.54 crore has been granted for the installation of a water boosting station in the Mahesh Nagar area of Ambala Cantonment. The initiative aims to ensure improved access to clean canal water for local residents.
Sh. Vij informed that the boosting station will soon be set up near the old water tank on Babyal Road in Mahesh Nagar. Once completed, it will significantly enhance the availability of canal water across dozens of colonies in the area and reduce dependence on tube wells for drinking water supply.

Following the approval, local representatives including Councillor Renu Chauhan (Ward No. 9), Councillor Somnath (Ward No. 8), and BJP leaders Vijender Chauhan, Neeraj Sharma, Satnam Saini, Madan Lal, Pawan Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Anand Bhatia, and Sunil Kannojia visited Mr. Vij’s residence to express their gratitude. Due to the proactive efforts of Minister Anil Vij, the funds were sanctioned ahead of the summer season, which will greatly benefit thousands of residents in Mahesh Nagar.
The new boosting station will improve water supply in several areas, including Dayal Bagh, Mahesh Nagar, Bharat Nagar, Shiv Pratap Nagar, Kabir Nagar, Tube Well Colony, Bihari Colony, Rama Estate, Golden Park, and Dayal Bagh F Block, among others.
Earlier, canal water supply in the region was supported by a boosting station in Arya Nagar. However, with the establishment of the new facility near the Mahesh Nagar water tank, residents of additional colonies will now receive improved and more reliable water supply.
