Chandigarh, May 8 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij reacted sharply to AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement that “Vande Mataram” cannot be considered equal to the national anthem “Jana Gana Mana.” Vij said that Vande Mataram is our national song and holds the same importance as the national anthem. Singing and respecting it is just as essential as respecting Jana Gana Mana. Vij further said that if one wants to live in India, one must sing Vande Mataram.

Sh. Vij was responding to questions asked by media persons in Ambala today.

Responding to a question regarding Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann blaming the BJP for the blasts in Punjab, despite a different statement by the Punjab DGP, Energy Minister Anil Vij took a jibe at Mann and said that perhaps Bhagwant Mann has started drinking more, and under that intoxication he is making such irresponsible statements.

Vij said that Mann is speaking against his own officials, and if he truly believes that the BJP is behind these incidents, then he should prove it; otherwise, he should resign, because he is not only the Chief Minister but also the Home Minister of Punjab.

He further said that the BJP wave, which started from Bengal and Assam, is now moving toward Punjab, and Bhagwant Mann has become frightened by it. According to Vij, this is the reason why Mann is making baseless allegations against the BJP, as the BJP is set to form the government in Punjab.

*“There is a BJP wave across the country; BJP will win in Haryana municipal elections as well” – Vij*

Regarding the municipal corporation elections being held in three districts of Haryana, Vij said that the BJP would emerge victorious in all three places. He added that there is a BJP wave across the country, and wherever elections are taking place, the BJP is winning. Vij further remarked that in Bengal, hooliganism had entrenched itself deeply and people had ruled for 15 years on the basis of intimidation, but the BJP wave uprooted their camps; therefore, these smaller opponents stand no chance.

As part of his daily routine, Anil Vij also visited his famous T-Point in Ambala Cantt. this morning to have tea with his friends. After making strong political remarks, he was also seen humming the patriotic song “Dekho Veer Jawano.”

On another note, Sh. Vij said that on the birth anniversary of Veer Maharana Pratap, the symbol of India’s self-respect and complete dedication to patriotism, his 12.5-foot-tall statue will be unveiled tomorrow, May 9, at 11 a.m. at Sadar Bazaar Chowk in Ambala Cantonment. He appealed to people to participate in large numbers in the event.

Energy Minister Anil Vij said that he had provided тВ╣50 lakh from his discretionary fund to the Municipal Council Ambala Sadar for the installation of Maharana Pratap’s statue, and the same amount has been used for this project. He informed that the statue weighs 16 quintals and is made of Panch Dhatu (five-metal alloy). The statue has already been installed and will be formally unveiled tomorrow, Saturday.

Sh. Vij said that the working style of their government is different from other parties. In Ambala Cantonment, they first installed a statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, then of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, and now the statue of Veer Maharana Pratap will be unveiled.

He further said that soon statues of Constitution-maker Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at 12 Cross Road and martyrs Sukhdev Singh and Rajguru at the SDM office will also be installed. Similarly, a world-class martyr memorial is being constructed at a cost of crores of rupees in memory of the martyrs of 1857, where tribute will be paid to the brave freedom fighters.
