Three arrested in Obstructing Government Duty/Assault on Police Party
A case FIR No. 52 u/s 121(1), 126(2), 132, 263, 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of SI Jaswinder Singh 1765/CHG, ANTF Sector-11, against Sunil Kumar alias Nandu alias Sunny R/o #718/16 BDC Sector-26, Chandigarh and his family members who obstructed government duty, assaulted police officials, damaged government vehicle, snatched gold ornaments of lady constable and forcibly freed the accused from police custody near SGGS College, Sector-26. Later on, three ladies accused have been arrested and are in police lockup.
One arrested in Snatching
A case FIR No. 51 u/s 304 and added 317(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mani Majra, Chandigarh on the complaint of Jaydev Manna S/o Ajit Manna R/o #410/2 Mani Majra, Chandigarh, against an unknown person, who snatched ₹2500/- and a post office passbook from the complainant’s son aged 15 years near Gali MHC, Mani Majra on 08-05-2026 at about 04:50 PM. Later, accused Suresh Bahadur R/o #29/10 Thakurdwara, Mani Majra was arrested and is in police lockup.
One arrested under Arms Act
Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Alla Rakha R/o #2264 New Indra Colony, Manimajra, near Shastri Nagar Parking, Mani Majra on 09-05-2026 and found in possession of one country-made pistol with magazine and one live round. In this regard, a case FIR No. 50 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Mani Majra, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested in Impersonation
A case FIR No. 78 u/s 168 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of Manish Deo Singh, Flight Lieutenant, Station Security Officer, Main Gate 3BRD, against Sumit Kumar R/o VPO Garhi Mansowal, District Hoshiarpur (PB), who was found sitting in car No. PB-01E-6002 near 3BRD Air Force Gate while unauthorisedly wearing Indian Air Force uniform with Sergeant rank chevrons on 08-05-2026. The accused has been arrested and is in police lockup. Investigation of the case is in progress.
