Chandigarh, May 12 – Haryana Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that the present state government is fully committed to providing better, accessible and timely healthcare services to workers and their families. He said that workers are the backbone of the economy of both the state and the nation, and ensuring their health security is among the government’s top priorities.
With the cooperation of the Central Government, construction and expansion work of ESIC hospitals and dispensaries is being carried out rapidly at 34 locations across the state so that workers can avail modern healthcare facilities near their homes.
In this regard, Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij today chaired a high-level review meeting of ESIC department officials and conducted a detailed review of the progress of all ongoing projects. He directed the officials to ensure that all construction works and projects being implemented through ESIC are completed within the stipulated timeframe on a priority basis so that workers can benefit from these facilities at the earliest.
Sh. Vij instructed officials to prepare a detailed list of projects facing any kind of delay, hurdle or pending work and ensure their timely completion through regular monitoring. He said in a stern tone that he would personally review the progress of these projects every month and that negligence at any level would not be tolerated.
During the meeting, officials informed that more than 98 percent of the civil work for the 100-bed ESIC Hospital in Bahadurgarh, district Jhajjar, has been completed. Similarly, around 90 percent of the civil work for the 150-bed ESIC Hospital being built in Bawal, district Rewari, has also been completed and the remaining work will be finished soon.
Officers further informed that a 150-bed ESIC Hospital in Rohtak and a state-of-the-art 500-bed ESIC Hospital in Manesar are proposed and work on these projects will begin shortly. In addition, nearly 95 percent of the construction work of ESIC dispensaries at Barhi and Rai in Sonipat has been completed, while the ESIC dispensary in Panchkula has already become operational.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of works for a 100-bed ESIC Hospital in Ambala, a 100-bed hospital in Hisar, a 150-bed ESIC Hospital in Sonipat and a 30-bed ESIC Hospital in Karnal. Along with this, the progress of ESIC dispensaries in various regions including IMT Rohtak, Saha, Sohna, Kharkhoda, Nuh, Gohana, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Jhadli, Pataudi, Kundli, Bahalgarh, Taraori, Gharaunda, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Farrukhnagar, Kosli, Charkhi Dadri, Chhachhrauli, Dadri Toe and Mullana was also reviewed.
Sh. Vij said that the government’s objective is not limited to constructing buildings only, but also to ensuring quality healthcare services, modern medical equipment, specialist doctors and better medical facilities for workers. He added that the state government is continuously taking concrete steps for the welfare and social security of workers, and the expansion of ESIC facilities is a major step in this direction.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Labour Department Sh. Rajeev Ranjan, HSIIDC Managing Director Sh. Sushil Sarwan, Director of Urban Local Bodies Department Sh. Mukul Kumar, ESI Director Ms. Anjali Sachdeva, ESIC Regional Director Sh. Hari Om Prakash and other senior officials.

Chandigarh, May 12 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij has given a major gift to the people of Ambala by directing that Sadar Bazaar Chowk be renamed “Maharana Pratap Chowk” and that the road where Maharana Pratap’s statue is installed, Nicholson Road, be renamed “Maharana Pratap Road.”
Sh. Vij today written a letter to the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar, instructing that the necessary action in this regard be initiated at the earliest.
Energy Minister Anil Vij had provided тВ╣50 lakh from his discretionary fund for the installation of the statue of the brave Maharana Pratap. On May 9, on the occasion of Maharana Pratap Jayanti, a 12.5-foot-high and 16-quintal statue of Maharana Pratap was unveiled at Sadar Bazaar Chowk by Anil Vij. A large number of people from the community, along with city residents, participated in the event.
Now, Energy Minister Anil Vij has directed the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council to rename the chowk as “Maharana Pratap Chowk” and Nicholson Road as “Maharana Pratap Road.”
Notably, the statue of the brave Maharana Pratap has been made from Panch Dhatu (five-metal alloy). It was created by renowned Jaipur sculptor Mahavir Bharti. The statue depicts Maharana Pratap riding his horse Chetak, holding a spear in one hand, symbolizing his valor and warrior spirit.
