Chandigarh/Mohali, May 16, 2026 -: Voting for the 2026 Executive Body of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association (PHHCBA) was held on Friday. Advocate Rohit Sood was elected President of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association (PHHCBA) by a margin of 96 votes. The credible promises outlined in his manifesto were the primary reason for his victory. His foremost commitment was the Sarangpur Advocates' Housing Society, while the second key issue addressed was the security for lawyers. In this regard, he wrote a letter to the Chief Minister, who, in turn, gave an assurance that action on this matter would be taken within six months. For young lawyers to consult and discuss with their clients, four distinct and suitable spaces located both within the High Court Library complex and across the Tri-City region are to be designated.
Meanwhile, Advocate Ashish Bishnoi was elected Vice President of the PHHCBA. Advocate Parmpreet Singh Bajwa (Harry), who had previously served as Executive Bar Member, had done excellent work for the Bar and was elected Secretary.Dr. Kirandeep Kaur as Joint Secretary, and Advocate Ashish Rana as Treasurer. Advocate Kamla Malik was elected as the Women's Member.
