Chandigarh, May 28:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today carried out an extensive anti-encroachment drive against illegal vendors and unauthorized occupations at various parts of the city, including Sectors 12, 15, 22, 23, 49, Naya Gaon Barrier and Village Daria.
The enforcement teams of the Municipal Corporation removed encroachments from roadsides, market areas and public spaces to ensure smooth movement of traffic and convenience for residents and commuters. During the drive, strict action was taken against violators indulging in unauthorized vending and illegal occupation of government land.
A total of 63 challans were issued against the violators under the relevant provisions of the Municipal Corporation Act and other applicable rules.
