CHANDIGARH POLICE BRIEF OF CASES DATED-06.06.2026
One arrested under Arms Act
Chandigarh Police arrested Jatin Kumar Chauhan R/o #1359/A, Sector-19/B, Chandigarh, aged 25 years, near House No. 628, Sector-8/B, Chandigarh on 04.06.2026. During checking, one pistol along with a magazine containing five live cartridges was recovered from his possession. In this regard a case FIR No. 59 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Accident
A Case FIR No. 60 u/s 281, 125(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-03, Chandigarh against ASI Daljit 2989/CP, driver of white Brezza Car No. PB02-EP-7244, who allegedly hit Motorcycle No. CH01-CZ-5326 driven by Virender Kumar S/o Balak Ram R/o Near Shamboo Lal Shop, Village Kansal, Mohali, along with other road users near Kaimbwala Turn on 03.12.2025. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to GH-16. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Dowry Death
A Case FIR No. 82 u/s 80(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mani Majra, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ram Gopal Tiwari R/o, Village Sihpur, District Gonda, Uttar Pradesh against Mahesh Kumar (husband of the deceased), (mother-in-law of the deceased), Jawarhar Lal (father-in-law of the deceased) and others, all residents of House No. 1415, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, regarding allegations of domestic violence, demand of dowry and dowry death. The complainant alleged that his daughter who was married to Mahesh Kumar on 09.12.2020, committed suicide by hanging on 19.05.2026 at her matrimonial home at House Vikas Nagar Chandigarh,due to harassment and dowry demands. Investigation of this case is in progress.
