Three arrested under NDPS ACT

A Case FIR No. 81 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station SRP on the complaint of ASI Sudhir Singh 2175/CHD, DCC, Sec-24, against Rohit S/o Lt. Ram Shankar, R/o #3007, near Bus Stand, Maloya, Chandigarh, aged 22 years. The accused was apprehended from Slip Road Togan to Dhanas, near Police Complex Dhanas, on 24-09-2026 at about 06:00 PM, and 14.95 grams of heroin (16.55 grams with pouch) was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and sent to police lockup.

A Case FIR No. 102 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station MM on the complaint of ASI Surinder Pal Singh 2214/CHG against Sumi Negi S/o Jainder Singh Negi, R/o #214, New Indira Colony, MM, Chandigarh, aged 30 years. The accused was apprehended from near the backside of Government School on 24.0o.2026 and recovered 11.70 gram heroin from his possession. He was arrested and sent to police lockup.

A Case FIR No. 150 u/s 22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station-34 on the complaint of ASI Ashish 1918/CHG against Deepak S/o Madan Lal R/o #215, 1st Floor, Vill. Burail, Sec-45, Chandigarh, aged 41 years. The accused was apprehended near Mandi Ground, Sec-46, Chandigarh, on 24-09-2026 at about 06:45 PM, and 5.46 grams of ICE drug was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested

One arrested under Arms Act

A Case FIR No. 173 u/s 24-59-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station-31 on the complaint of HC Sujeet 1834/CP against Gaga Kumar S/o Naresh Kumar R/o #1177, PH-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh, aged 27 years. The accused was apprehended from near Sec-47 C&D Turn on 24-09-2026 at about 06:30 PM, and one Kamanidar knife was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and sent to police lockup.

One arrested consuming liquor at public place

A Case FIR No. 157 u/s 68(1)(b) PP Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station — Mauli Jagran on the complaint of HC Lalit Kumar 633/CP against Suraj S/o Lakhan R/o #3216, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh, aged 27 years. The accused was apprehended from near Mauli Jagran Masjid, Mauli Jagran, on 24-09-2026 at about 10:40 PM, while consuming liquor at a public place and creating nuisance. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.

One arrested under Excise Act

A Case FIR No. 166 u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered at Police Station-39 on the complaint of ASI Jugraj Singh 542/CP against Rahul S/o Lt. Surender Rana R/o #6259, Sec-56, Chandigarh, aged 36 years. The accused was apprehended from near the open ground behind Sports Complex, Sec-56, Chandigarh, on 24-09-2026 at about 06:00 PM, and 75 nips of country-made liquor, Mark Jannat Mast Santra, were recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.

Cyber Cheating

A Case FIR No. 159 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber Crime on the complaint of Balbir Singh S/o Sawran Singh, R/o Shop No. 1823, Noor Army Store, Deep Complex, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, against an unknown person. The accused allegedly cheated the complainant of ₹3,99,512/- by sending a malicious APK file regarding an RTO challan. The complainant downloaded the APK file, following which his mobile phone was compromised and he was cheated. No arrest so far.

A Case FIR No. 160 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber Crime on the complaint of Saroj Kumar Parhi S/o Prasanna Kumar Parhi, R/o Composite Hospital, ITBP, Air Port Station, Behlana, against an unknown person. The accused allegedly cheated the complainant of ₹54,883/- through a malicious APK file regarding Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) for payment of a pending bill.Investigation of this case is in progress.

A Case FIR No. 161 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber Crime on the complaint of a lady , R/o Chandigarh, against an unknown person. The accused allegedly cheated the complainant of ₹1,59,072/- through a malicious APK file received on WhatsApp from an unknown number, which was described as a dating app. The complainant downloaded the APK, following which her mobile phone was compromised and she was cheated. No arrest so far.

Cheating

A Case FIR No. 109 u/s 318(4), 336(2), 336(3), 337, 340, 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station 03 on the complaint of Akhil Singh, Secretary, CHD Housing Board, Sec-9, against Surjit Singh and Jagdish Chander. The accused allegedly submitted a deceptive letter containing an amount different from the actual amount of figure to the CHD Housing Board on 07-02-2025.Investigation of this case is in progress.

Accident

A Case FIR No. 125 u/s 281, 125(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station 11 on the complaint of Bittu S/o Karamveer Singh, R/o Flat No. 14, GH-92, Sec-20 PKL (HR), aged 33 years, against Dinesh Kumar S/o Ghanshyam R/o #2530, Adarsh Nagar, Nayagaon (PB), aged 25 years. The accused was riding motorcycle No. CH-01DB-5899, with the complainant as pillion rider, when the motorcycle allegedly hit a taxi bearing No. HR-68C-1636 near Karuna Sadan Bhawan, Sec-11, on 24-09-2026. Both persons sustained injuries; the driver was admitted to GMCH-16 and the pillion rider to PGI. Investigation of this case is in progress.
