Chandigarh, October 6-Bharatiya Janata Party State President Kewal Singh Dhillon said that the Punjab Government’s attempt to mislead the court in the matter of Dearness Allowance (DA), and the manner in which it was deceiving 8 lakh employees and pensioners, has been exposed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. After the Punjab Government was exposed for allegedly lying before the court, the AAP government has no moral right to remain in power.

In a press statement issued from the party office in Chandigarh, the BJP State President said that the court had already remarked about the government that it does not care about court judgments.

Dhillon said that a government which does not respect the courts responsible for upholding the Constitution and enforcing the law has no right to remain in power. Commenting on the issuance of a contempt of court notice to the Chief Secretary of Punjab in the DA matter, he said that the notice has not been issued to an individual named K.A.P. Sinha, but to the Chief Secretary of the Punjab Government. This means that the notice concerns the entire Punjab Government. The responsibility for allegedly lying before the courts and deceiving its own employees does not rest solely with the Chief Secretary, but with the Punjab Government, including the Chief Minister of Punjab and the entire Council of Ministers.

Kewal Dhillon assured the employees of Punjab that the BJP supports their legitimate demands and that, after the party comes to power, all such issues will be taken up on priority and resolved immediately. He said that the BJP also supports the employees’ rally scheduled to be held in Sangrur on October 10.

Chandigarh, October 6, 2026-Expressing deep concern over Punjab's deteriorating law and order, former BJP Punjab President Shwet Malik said on Tuesday that corruption at the top is responsible for the rot at the bottom."When serious corruption charges are levelled against the Chief Minister's Office and the Chief Minister's wife herself, such incidents in police stations and jails are inevitable," he said. Malik said law and order has completely collapsed in the state. Drugs and mobile phones are freely available inside jails, gangs are being operated from within, while the AAP government remains a mute spectator. "What is most shameful is that policemen themselves are now being caught peddling drugs. In Khanna, a constable posted at Police Lines has been arrested for selling and consuming drugs. A Home Guard jawan was caught in an inebriated state and failed the dope test. This shows how deep the drug menace has penetrated the uniform," he said.

"When protectors turn predators, where will the common Punjabi go? The entire system has rotted from within," Malik added.

He said AAP had promised to make it 'Rangla Punjab' and make it drug-free, but has instead turned it into 'Nasha Wala Punjab'. "Chitta inside khaki and mobiles inside jails - this is their only achievement. This proves the government is in collusion with drug smugglers." He demanded a probe by a sitting High Court judge into drug supply in jails and police involvement in drug trafficking. He also termed Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as the most incompetent CM the state has ever seen, stating that his government has completely surrendered to the drug mafia.
