One arrested under Arm Act
A case FIR No. 96 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area against Sachin R/o near Barrier, Sector-4, Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh, aged 23 years. The accused was apprehended from the parking area near the cremation ground, Village Daria, Chandigarh, on 10-10-2026 at about 9:10 PM. During the search, one kamanidar knife was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and lodged in police lock-up.
Attempt to murder
A case FIR No. 167 u/s 118(1), 109(1), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of Shammi Kumar R/o H. No. 2072, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh, aged 32 years.
The complainant reported that on 09-10-2026 , he was allegedly attacked with a knife near Krishna Sweets, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh, by Gautam, Karan @ Kanna, Vishu and Kavi, along with other persons as mentioned in the report. The complainant sustained injuries in the incident and was admitted to GMCH-32, Chandigarh, for treatment. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Theft
A case FIR No. 168 u/s 305(A), 331(4) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of Kanhaiya , R/o H. No. 95-C, Phase-2, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh, aged 29 years. The complainant reported that an unknown person allegedly committed theft at his house during the night intervening 08/09-10-2026. The stolen property included cash amounting to ₹1,00,000/-, one pair of gold earrings and six mobile phones.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 185 u/s 406, 420 IPC has been registered at Police Station 36 on the complaint of a lady, R/o Bathinda, Punjab, against Rajdeep Singh, operating from SCO No. 483-84, Sector-35/C, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that she was cheated of ₹3,50,000/- in connection with visa-related services.Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 06 u/s 120(B), 420, 467, 468, 471 IPC has been registered at Police Station Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on the complaint concerning an alleged property transaction involving Vikas Deep Jain R/o H. No. 2325, Sector-15, Sonipat, Haryana, against Tushar Agarwal, Lovekesh, Diwaker, Ritesh Sehgal and others. The complainant was allegedly cheated of a total amount of ₹20 crore in connection with the purchase of property.
A case FIR No. 174 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber Crime on the complaint of Karan Singh, R/o H. No. 1246/A, Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that an unknown person allegedly cheated him of ₹98,700/- by impersonating an employee of AU Bank. The accused allegedly represented himself as a bank employee and cheated the complainant under the pretext of redeeming credit-card reward points.
