SHIMLA-15 October, 2026-In a warm and heartfelt gesture, Governor Kavindra Gupta invited the artists of Chandranahan Rangmanch, Rohru, to Lok Bhavan for tea and honoured them for their remarkable theatrical performance.

It was a poignant moment for the entire troupe when the Governor sat down with them for an informal interaction and personally felicitated them.

The occasion followed the staging of ‘Mukhautasur,’ a play based on the acclaimed novel ‘Hidimba’ by senior writer S. R. Harnot, at the historic Gaiety Theatre in Shimla on October 12. The artists of Chandranahan Rangmanch, Rohru, wove such a spellbinding atmosphere through their performance that the Governor could not bring himself to leave the theatre until late into the night, and was visibly moved on several occasions.

During his interaction with the artists, the Governor acknowledged that he was both touched and impressed by their staging. He shared that he too had performed in one-act plays during his college days and understood the immense hard work a performer must put in for a presentation.

The Governor announced an amount of Rs. 51 thousand to the troupe.

Director of the play Krish Bharti briefed the Governor about the preparations involved in staging the play and the troupe's other activities. The artists also shared their experiences with the Governor.

Secretary to the Governor Sandeep Bhardwaj was present on the occasion.
