*CM Bhagwant Singh Mann Addresses Public At Inauguration Of Aam Aadmi Clinic In Hoshiarpur*

HOSHIARPUR; 14th October 2026:Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on traditional political parties, stating that they want to shut down Aam Aadmi Clinics (AAC), the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, ₹1,000 monthly assistance for women and free bus travel, as they cannot digest the people-centric initiatives being implemented by his government. During a massive public gathering at village Harkhowal in Chabbewal, Hoshiarpur, after dedicating 154 new Aam Aadmi Clinics, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said Punjab now has 1,244 clinics, with more than 6.48 crore OPD visits recorded so far.

Highlighting that the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna covers 54.20 lakh families and nearly 8 lakh beneficiaries have received treatment, he reiterated that his government’s priorities are people’s healthcare, children’s education and youth employment, not slogan-driven politics. Taking aim at traditional political parties for looting Punjab, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that no attempt to malign his government could shake his resolve as long as he had the love and trust of the people.

Sharing a few snippets from this occasion, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated on X: “Today, we have dedicated 154 new Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people of Punjab. These clinics were inaugurated during a massive public rally at village Harkhowal in Chabbewal. With this, the total number of Aam Aadmi Clinics in Punjab has reached 1,244. So far, patients have benefited from free medicines and diagnostic tests at these clinics on more than 6.5 crore occasions. Our government’s job is not to make people raise slogans of victory or defeat, but to ensure healthcare, education and employment for the people. The traditional political parties have only looted Punjab. They may resort to any number of malicious tactics to defame us, but as long as I have the love and trust of the people, I have nothing to fear from them. Inquilab Zindabad.”

Addressing a gathering after dedicating 154 newly constructed Aam Aadmi Clinics to the people at village Harkhowal in Chabbewal, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “While previous governments remained confined to their palatial residences and worked primarily for their families and vested interests, the our government is committed to serving every section of society. Our government is fulfilling its promises through concrete action in healthcare, education, employment, irrigation and social welfare, ensuring that the benefits of development reached ordinary citizens.”

The Chief Minister pointed out, “The historic mandate given by the people of Punjab has placed a tremendous responsibility on our shoulders, and we are fulfilling our promises through concrete action. The difference between the previous governments and our government is clear. Earlier, power was treated as a means to benefit families and select individuals, but today, governance revolves around the common people, their aspirations and their welfare. The winds of development are blowing across Punjab, and no conspiracy by the opposition can stop this transformation.”

Launching a sharp attack on the opposition, he said that parties which had governed Punjab for decades were now struggling with internal divisions, a lack of credible leadership and an inability to present a constructive vision for the state.

Taking a dig at the Shiromani Akali Dal, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Akali Dal once claimed that it would govern Punjab for 25 years, but today it is struggling to maintain its political relevance. Those who made grand claims about their political future have failed to build a strong and united organisation.”

Criticising the Congress for its internal differences, he said, “Congress leaders are unable to present a united front even on matters concerning Punjab’s future. Those who ruled Punjab for years and failed to fulfil the aspirations of its people are now unable to tolerate the work being done by our government. They are joining hands against us because they have no credible agenda for Punjab, but the people of the state continue to stand firmly with us.”

The Chief Minister pointed out that the people of Punjab had rejected the politics of corruption, nepotism and personal enrichment and were now demanding accountable governance and tangible results. “The previous Akali governments failed to protect Punjab’s youth from the drug menace, while the sacrilege incidents inflicted a severe blow on the party’s credibility among the people. The opposition must understand that people have rejected the politics of corruption, nepotism and personal enrichment. I appeal to the people to remain vigilant against attempts to mislead them. The trust and blessings of the people are our greatest political strength,” he said.

Reaffirming his government’s commitment to development, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Punjab’s growth is our mission, the welfare of its people is our responsibility, and their trust is our greatest strength. We will continue to accelerate development, improve public services and fulfil our commitments despite criticism. With the blessings and support of the people, we will continue working tirelessly for Punjab and return to serve them again with renewed commitment.”

Highlighting the achievements of the state government’s healthcare initiative, the Chief Minister said that the dedication of 154 new Aam Aadmi Clinics had taken the total number of these clinics across Punjab to 1,244, substantially strengthening access to affordable and quality primary healthcare. “Aam Aadmi Clinics have transformed the delivery of primary healthcare by bringing medical consultations, diagnostic facilities and medicines closer to people’s homes. Poor and middle-class families are particularly benefiting because they can access timely medical attention without having to worry about the financial burden. Healthcare is a basic right, not a privilege reserved for those who can afford expensive private hospitals. Our government is ensuring that people receive quality medical treatment without financial hardship,” he said.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that approximately 1.98 crore people had visited Aam Aadmi Clinics, while cumulative outpatient department (OPD) footfall had crossed 6.5 crore. He said that 127 types of medicines and a range of diagnostic tests were being provided free of cost at these clinics, enabling patients to receive essential treatment without unnecessary expenditure. “More than 6.5 crore OPD visits reflect the extensive use of these clinics by people across Punjab. We are also strengthening the wider public healthcare system by providing free diagnostic tests and medicines through government health facilities,” he said.

The Chief Minister further said that 5,500 youngsters had secured employment in the Health Department, strengthening healthcare services while creating livelihood opportunities for the state’s youth.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to universal healthcare, he said, “The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna has been designed to provide cashless treatment coverage of up to ₹10 lakh per family. Our objective is to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent families from accessing necessary medical treatment.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government had provided 70,685 government jobs to youngsters purely on merit, without bribery, political influence or personal recommendations. “Transparent recruitment has restored the confidence of young people who had long felt that government jobs were inaccessible without connections. Our government has demonstrated that if intentions are honest, opportunities can be created for deserving youngsters. We are providing jobs on merit, not on the basis of money, political influence or recommendations. Our commitment is to empower Punjab’s youth through employment, education and opportunities to build a better future,” he said CM.

Taking a swipe at opposition leaders, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the government was working to expand opportunities in higher education and competitive examinations, while some opposition leaders continued to confine their political discourse to narrow and outdated issues.

Announcing the establishment of a UPSC coaching centre in Hoshiarpur, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “We want the children of Punjab to become IAS and IPS officers and serve the country with distinction. The UPSC coaching centre in Hoshiarpur will help talented youngsters prepare for civil services examinations closer to home and reduce the financial burden of coaching. Our vision is to open doors to the highest levels of public service for every deserving student, irrespective of their financial background.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that construction of a medical college named after Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj had commenced in Hoshiarpur, marking an important step towards expanding medical education and strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the region.

The Chief Minister affirmed, “The medical college named after Sri Guru Ravidass Maharaj will strengthen medical education and healthcare infrastructure in Hoshiarpur. We are also committed to upgrading Guru Ravidass Ayurveda University to world-class standards so that students pursuing traditional systems of medicine can access better educational opportunities.”

Highlighting the government’s efforts to strengthen irrigation infrastructure, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, “We have increased canal irrigation coverage from around 22 per cent to more than 80 per cent across Punjab. Approximately 14,000 kilometres of pipelines have been laid, and we are working to expand the network further so that canal water reaches more agricultural areas. This will reduce dependence on groundwater and provide sustainable irrigation facilities to farmers.”

Emphasising the importance of irrigation for the Kandi region, the Chief Minister noted, “Farmers in the Kandi region have faced geographical challenges and inadequate irrigation facilities for decades. We are working to bring canal water to areas that remained beyond the existing network, while lift irrigation projects are being undertaken to address the region’s specific needs. These measures will help conserve groundwater, improve agricultural sustainability and provide relief to farmers.”

Highlighting the Sadak Surakhya Force initiative, he said that the government is prioritising road safety, reducing accidents and saving precious human lives. “The Sadak Surakhya Force reflects our commitment to road safety and the protection of precious human lives. We are working to reduce accidents and strengthen emergency response so that people can travel more safely,” he said.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Our government is committed to improving the lives of women and supporting families in need. Through the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, we are working to strengthen women’s economic and social position.”

Referring to the Meri Rasoi Scheme, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Under the Meri Rasoi Scheme, free ration kits are being provided to eligible families, while the free Teerath Yatra initiative enables people to undertake religious pilgrimages.”

Announcing a community centre for the Harkhowal area, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The community centre will provide an important facility for residents of Harkhowal, particularly economically weaker and underprivileged families who need suitable spaces to organise social, cultural and community functions with dignity. Our government will continue to prioritise facilities that directly improve the everyday lives of ordinary citizens rather than spend public money on projects designed merely to serve political interests.”

Referring to the celebrations marking the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj, especially his message of equality, human dignity and a society free from discrimination, continue to inspire our policies. We are committed to building a society in which every individual, irrespective of caste, class or economic status, has access to education, healthcare and opportunities for advancement.”

On the occasion, Cabinet Minister Dr Balbir Singh, Lok Sabha MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal, MLA Ishaan Chabbewal and others were also present.
