Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Sunil R/o Jhuggi No. 150, DBC, Sector-25, Chandigarh (Age-33 years) and Sagar R/o Jhuggi No. 360, DBC, Sector-25, Chandigarh (Age-23 years) while they were gambling near Balmiki Mandir, Sector-25, Chandigarh on 07.10.2022. Total cash Rs. 1240/- was recovered from them. A case FIR No. 169, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two persons arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Karan Singh @ Karma R/o # 1197, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh (Age 28 years) and recovered 7.97 gm heroin from his possession near Pepsi turn towards Makhan Majra, Chandigarh on 07.10.2023. A case FIR No. 121, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Gurmeet Singh R/o Village Nawan Pind Donewal, Shahkot, Distt-Jalandhar, Punjab (Age 27 years) and recovered 50.95 gm heroin from his possession near Kachi Parking, Mandi Ground, in front of Market, Sector-45, Chandigarh on 07.10.2023. A case FIR No. 159, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under Arms Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Prince @ Ashu R/o # 1039, Sector-17, Panchkula, Haryana, (Age 21 years) and recovered one kamanidar knife from his possession at Vikas Nagar Light Point, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on 07.10.2023. A case FIR No. 122, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Bhola R/o # 3070, Sector-56, Chandigarh reported that unknown pedestrian ran away after snatching the complainant's mobile phone near Govt. School, Sector-56, Chandigarh on 07.10.2023. A case FIR No. 171, U/S 379A IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Police Station-Mauli Jagran, Makes Significant Drug Bust

Chandigarh,08.10.23-Police Station-Mauli Jagran, Makes Significant Drug Bust and Arms Seizure With the relentless efforts and under directions of SDPO/North-East Sh.P. Abhinandan and SHO/PS-MJ Inspector Satnam Singh, the police station Mauli Jagran achieved a major breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal arms possession.

  1. 1. Case FIR No. 121, dated October 07, 2023, under Section 21 of the NDPS Act, was registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh.

On 07.10.2023 when SI Avtar Singh, No. 1577/CHG, along with police officials from Police Station Mauli Jagran, were on patrolling duties near Pepsi Turn Road, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh. The vigilant police team observed a suspicious individual, later identified as Karan Singh @ Karma S/o Ganga Ram, R/o #1196, Mauli Complex, Mauli Jagran Chandigarh India Age-28 Years. The behavior of accused raised suspicion as he altered his route upon spotting the police. The police promptly intercepted him and conducted a search. A thorough search led to the discovery of 7.97 grams Heroin from accused. The accused was unable to produce any license or permit for the contraband. Consequently, accused Karan Singh @ Karma, was arrested, and the case was registered. To further investigate the source of procurement of recovered substance, the PS-Mauli Jagran has obtained a one-day police custody of accused.

  1. Case FIR No. 122, dated 07.10.2023, Under Section 25-54-59 Arms Act, Police Station-Mauli Jagran, UT, Chandigarh

In this case ASI Ramesh Chander, 3075/CHG, along with police party from Police Station-Mauli Jagran, apprehended accused Prince @ Ashu S/O Chander Parkash R/O #1039 Sec-17 Rajiv Colony, Panchkula age-21 years and recovered a Kamanidar knife from his possession. The case is under active investigation and accused sent to judicial custody.

As per the police records, the accused Karan Singh @ Karma found to be a habitual offender and is also involved in several criminal activities within the tricity.
