Chandigarh, 20.11.2025— As part of the ongoing National Library Week and Children’s Day Celebrations, T.S. Central State Library, Sector 17, Chandigarh, organised two vibrant literary and creative events for school children of the tricity, in collaboration with the Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi.
The day began with the Hasya Kavi Sammelan Competition for students of Classes 7 and 8 from private schools across the tricity. A total of 33 participants presented humorous, witty, and expressive poems—both self-composed and recited—filling the auditorium with laughter and lively energy.
A Poster Making Competition was also held for Classes 5 and 6, based on three socially relevant themes:
• Nasha Mukt Bharat
• Ekta Diwas
• Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao
The event saw an enthusiastic response with 50 participants, who conveyed strong social messages through creative and impactful artwork.
Hasya Kavi Sammelan was judged by Dr. Santosh Dhiman and Mrs. Seema Gupta, respected authors and well-known literary personalities of Chandigarh. They applauded the children for their originality, artistic sensitivity, and thoughtful presentations.
The events were organised by Dr. Neeza Singh, Librarian
Mrs. Neelam Bansal, Library Incharge, appreciated the participants and added, “It is heartening to witness the enthusiasm of students. Competitions like these enhance their confidence and help them become more aware and expressive.”
The Library will continue to host engaging events throughout the week as part of the National Library Week and Children’s Day celebrations.
