Chandigarh, 21 November: The Department of Botany at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with the Horticulture and Landscaping Committee, and under the aegis of IQAC, organised a skill-enhancement workshop for the institution’s malis at Dr. Green Nursery, Kishangarh, Chandigarh. The workshop aimed to update the gardeners on the practices in gardening, and dispel common gardening myths, thereby equipping them with improved, science-based horticultural techniques. Dr. Satish Narula, owner of Dr. Green Nursery, shared valuable insights on modern gardening methods, essential plant-care procedures, and effective strategies for ensuring the vitality and healthy growth of plants. A total of 11 malis and 3 faculty members from the college participated in the session, benefitting from hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of continuous skill upgradation to maintain the college’s green and sustainable campus.
