Chandigarh:17.12.25-Under the leadership of the Pastorate Committee of Christ Church, CNI, Sector 18, and with the support of convener Kahin Das, the annual Carol Singing Service has commenced as part of the Christmas preparations. Carol teams are visiting the homes of church members, singing hymns and extending Christmas greetings to each family.

The institution’s Secretary, Stephen Prakash Masih, said that this age-old tradition strengthens love, brotherhood, and community participation, and helps people prepare to celebrate the birth of Lord Jesus Christ with unity and gratitude. He added that members of the Christian community are eagerly and joyfully looking forward to the festival as part of the Christmas preparations.

The carol singing will continue uninterrupted until December 20. Around 30,000 to 40,000 members of the Christian community reside in the Tricity, and these carol groups make efforts to reach almost every household to convey Christmas wishes. A Christmas Fete was also organized at Christ Church, Sector 18, where traditional Christmas delicacies were served. The event witnessed a large turnout of devotees and visitors.

Kahin Das informed that a grand Christmas procession will be taken out from Christ Church, Sector 18, on December 23. The procession will start from Sector 18 and pass through Catholic Church, Sector 19, and then through Sectors 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24, before concluding at the Rally Ground, Sector 25. At the conclusion of the procession, a community feast (Agape meal) will be organized for all devotees, where everyone will come together to share the joy of the Lord’s birth.
